Neowiz Celebrates 3 Million Sales of Lies of P with Very Generous Dev Rewards

A milestone worthy of more than just applause — the team behind Lies of P gets some major recognition for reaching the 3 million sales milestone and to top it all off, Neowiz gives the dev team some very generous rewards.

News of developers getting some valuable rewards for their efforts are getting more common nowadays. For example, we know that Shift Up rewarded their devs with PS5 Pro consoles for their work on Stellar Blade. And just a few days ago, they did it again! This time with Nintendo Switch 2s, when Stellar Blade became playable on PC and the sales went through the roof. But they are not the only ones, as Neowiz has done something similar (or even better).

Neowiz Celebrates 3 Million Sales of Lies of P with Very Generous Dev Rewards

On June 20, The Elec, a renowned Korean media platform, reported that Lies of P and its DLC have surpassed 3 million sales, and that Neowiz rewarded their dev team very generously. When translated, courtesy of our friends at Resetera:

”On June 20, NEOWIZ announced that its PC and console action RPG ‘Lies of P’ has surpassed 3 million cumulative copies sold worldwide.

The figure includes combined sales of the base game Lies of P and the DLC Lies of P: The Prologue. This total counts digital and physical console sales across platforms like Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox. Despite being available on Xbox Game Pass from launch, the game still achieved this milestone, making the result even more meaningful.

NEOWIZ announced that each developer on the Lies of P team will receive an early launch bonus of 10 million KRW (approx. $7,200 USD, per current exchange rate). Additionally, they will be given two weeks of paid vacation. All members of Round8 Studio, the team behind the game, will also be gifted the new Nintendo Switch 2 console.”

So, that is a significant cash bonus, two weeks of vacation, and a Nintendo Switch 2 for each member? Are they hiring? But in all seriousness, the gaming industry is in a bad place right now, as far as worker satisfaction is concerned, so it is refreshing when you see small but dedicated teams make it, or when you hear that the CEOs are recognizing their teams and celebrating the success with more than pizza parties.
