Marvel Rivals has a peculiar system when it comes to transferring your leftover Chrono Tokens to the new Season. However, it hasn’t proved to be as popular as they hoped, and now Marvel Rivals devs announced that a new redemption system for your excess Chrono Tokens is on the way.
In Marvel Rivals, you unlock the Battle Pass rewards using Chrono Tokens. These are obtained by completing some simple challenges and daily tasks. But, NetEase had a system in the game where at the end of the Season, all the unused Toknes are automatically used to purchase all the items in the Battle Pass that you missed. The leftover Chrono Tokes get reset back to zero, with the exception of the Tokens you purchased with real money. The idea is to prevent players from hoarding Tokens for future Battle Passes and getting all the rewards on day one. This whole idea had mixed reactions at best, so Net Ease came up with a new plan.
New Redemption System For Excess Chrono Tokens in Marvel Rivals
On February 18, NetEase posted a new “episode” of Dev Vision, where they talk about the second half of Season 1 and the upcoming Update, scheduled for February 21. After teasing The Thing, the Human Torch, and a new map (Central Park), Guangguang talked about the new system for handling excess Chrono Tokens.
From the second half of Season 1 onwards, you can convert your excess Chrono Tokens into Units (the blue currency, mainly used to purchase cosmetics). “If you purchase the Luxury Battle Pass and redeem all its rewards, you’ll be able to convert any leftover Chrono Tokens for Units at a specific ratio,” said Guangguang. Unfortunately, he did not mention what the exact exchange rate will look like.
The second half of Season 1 begins on February 21, so we still have a long way to go before the Season ends, meaning we still have more than enough time to gather as many Chrono Tokens as possible. All in all, a nice change and a good idea by the devs!
