It’s here! Ever since the Battle for Super Earth ended, the players hoped they’d get a commemorative cape. Well, the Protector of the Heart cape is here, and Helldivers 2 players are head over heels for it! Let’s see what you should expect!
Devs Announce the Protector of the Heart Cape
On June 17, a Tuesday like any other, a new patch dropped in Helldivers 2. Besides various fixes and balancing, it also brought the commemorative cape! Baskinator, the Community Manager, announced the news on the official Discord channel.
She noted: “We have issued a hotfix featuring balance adjustments and fixes! And the Battle for Super Earth commemorative cape, Protector of the Heart, is rolling out to Helldivers now! (Please allow time for the cape to arrive — this request is sent through our backend, not as part of the patch, and will take some time to roll out). Note the cape is available for all active players (players logged in within the last 60 days) during the Battle for Super Earth event, from May 13 to June 2″.
Of course, as with any other commemorative freebies, it might take some time before you get this cape. However, don’t worry! If you were there during the Battle for Super Earth, you’ll get it, even if you didn’t fight on Super Earth (looking at you, bugdivers!). We were lucky enough to get it immediately, and it’s lovely.
As for the stats, well, they’re the same as always. The Armor Rating, the Speed, and the Stamina Regen are all 100. However, the intricate gold details and the exclusivity make it stand out. We’ll be sporting it for a while, that’s for sure.
Helldivers Are Proud of Their Accomplishments
As you know, the Heart of Democracy update brought the fight to Super Earth for the first time since the game launched. Helldivers 2 players fought valiantly, and they truly earned the Protector of the Heart cape. Super Earth, the Heart of Democracy, is safe. So, some players celebrated the new cape by pledging to never take it off, just as you may see some players who are still sporting the Creek commemorative cape.
One player noted: “I love that we received a cape for defending Super Earth. Was not there yet for Malevelon Creek, but now this feels special”. Another player added: “Honestly, big fan of the new cape. Love the black and gold, but that little dash of dark blue really ties it all together”.
