Hardly anyone expected it this early but Nexon has revealed some of their major plans for The First Descendant Season 3.
We just recently got the second major update for The First Descendant Season 2. With a new storyline, a bunch of improvements, and an official roadmap, it was safe to assume that it’s going to take a while before we get some info about the next Season. This one still has two more major updates scheduled, after all. Nexon set some expectations for Season 3, saying will be even bigger and better than the S2E2 update. They mentioned various different ideas and plans for it, like “world bosses” and the like. And, unexpectedly, they just revealed some official info concerning Season 3.
The First Descendant Season 3 – Nexon Revealed Some Upcoming Features
A Game Developer’s Conference (GDC) 2025 began on March 17 and will end on Saturday, March 22. As you’d expect, it is another gaming event where various developers talk about their plans for the future, as well as have an award ceremony (and a concert!). As it turns out, Nexon was also present, and they talked about The First Descendant, its beginning, their ups and downs, what they learned from this whole experience, and more (unfortunately, we can’t seem to find the full broadcast).
But, after talking about the past and present of TFD it was time to talk about the future and they have teased Season 3 a bit. The First Descendant Season 3 will be called “Breakthrough” and it is scheduled for July 2025. They revealed four new features: a new area, “world bosses”, vehicles, and a lounge.

New Features
The new area will be called Axion, with a “Larger battlefield, new ways to play” as a description. It looks like this is where they plan to have those huge fights they mentioned (and possibly more than four players at the same time). The “world bosses” are known as Field Colossus Battles, “A new Colossus battle, occurring on Axion”, so that settles it.
Moving on, the new area will have vehicles, a “new transport system to explore expansive field”. This is a great addition, as footslogging can get tiresome in the current state of TFD, even with all the Grappling Hook tricks and such. So the new area will have some ways to move about more quickly. Maybe the vehicles will have some weapons as well? Nothing game-breaking, but it could be cool! Lastly, they revealed a Lounge, “A new space for the player’s collection”. Truth be told, we’re completely unsure what this means. We can only speculate that it will be a place where the player can view their whole collection more easily, without having to navigate a bunch of menus.
We doubt that they will reveal any more info soon after this, as they have the remaining Season 2 updates to deal with. But, it’s great to hear that Nexon is aware of the current situation and what are their plans moving forward.
