The September 2025 Nintendo Direct will have “three sevens” shown in some capacity, according to a leak posted on social media. While the new Nintendo leak did not state which three games would be featured, the upcoming Switch 2 port of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is likely one of them.
Rumors about a potential September Direct started circulating following Nintendo’s appearance at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. The rumors were sparked by Nintendo content creator SwitchForce, who initially claimed that the broadcast would air on Friday, September 12. Unlike the recent Nintendo Direct that focused solely on Kirby Air Riders, the supposed mid-September episode could be broader in its coverage.
September Nintendo Direct Could Feature “Three Sevens” In Some Capacity
Though any rumors concerning a future Nintendo Direct must be taken with a grain of salt, a known industry leaker shared a new clue in a video. As reported by TheGamer, SwitchForce shared another source’s claim that the supposed September 2025 Direct would feature three games that include the number seven in some capacity. Although SwitchForce’s source did not state what these games would be, a potential candidate could be the upcoming Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, which is scheduled to launch in the winter. Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade was confirmed to perform at a stable frame rate of 30 FPS on the Switch 2. Another candidate featuring the number seven is 007 First Light, launching on March 27 on all platforms. However, pre-orders for 007 First Light: Specialist Edition on the Switch 2 will be on Game-Key Cards.
Although Nintendo has not revealed when the next Direct will air as of this writing, SwitchForce stated that an announcement could come as early as September 10. Days before SwitchForce’s video, evidence of a potential September Nintendo Direct was corroborated by industry insider NateTheHate, who stated that the broadcast could air on September 11 or 12. Given NateTheHate’s track record and Nintendo’s past patterns of hosting Directs during September, fans may not have to wait long to hear about the company’s plans for 2025 and 2026.
The topics that a potential September Nintendo Direct could cover include the 40th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. franchise and the anticipated release date reveal of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Between those prospects and other surprises that could be shown, only time will tell how many more Nintendo Switch 2 titles will be added to the growing list.
