Fans of the Pokemon franchise have a new reason to be excited, as official LEGO sets inspired by the series will be released in 2026. Some popular games have been immortalized in LEGO bricks over the past few years, and those in the Pokemon community are eager to see which creatures will be appearing on store shelves next year.

Since appearing on the scene in 1996, the Pokemon series has grown exponentially, becoming one of the best-selling video game franchises of all time with over 480 million copies sold as of March 2023. While the games are the backbone of the franchise, Pokemon went on to spawn a highly successful anime, manga, toys, and the Pokemon Trading Card Game, the latter of which is currently experiencing a renaissance. With plenty of action figures featuring the series’ many monsters released over the years, fans have often speculated on the plausibility of a LEGO crossover. Now, after almost three decades, it seems that the wait for these dream sets is nearly over.
