It is confirmed, Hideo Kojima will release the Final Trailer for Death Stranding 2 on the release day, June 26. But some fans are a bit confused by that decision. Let’s see why that is.
The release of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is mere days away. After waiting for years, the fans can finally continue where the first part left off and see what Kojima has in store for us now. About a week ago, we had the release of the DS2 trailer showing some beautiful visuals and parts of the gameplay. It was followed by Kojima’s statement that he’s working on the Final Trailer, scheduled to be released at the same time as the game itself, or somewhere near that date. Now, he confirmed that the trailer will air on the date of the DS2 release, which some fans find a bit odd.
Kojima Confirms the Final Trailer for Death Stranding 2 Will Air on June 26
On June 20, Hideo Kojima announced on his X profile that the Final Trailer is done, and that it will air on June 26, along with the official release of Death Stranding 2.
“Final Trailer is done. Screening party with everyone. 180 shots this time. Will be released on launch day, the 26th.”

Even though the excitement is growing by the minute, some fans are a bit befuddled by this decision.
Fans Confused By the Trailer Release Date
We know the official release date for Death Stranding is June 26. However, folks who preordered the Deluxe Edition of the game will have a two-day early access, meaning that a lot of fans will already be playing DS2 when the final trailer hits. Which kinda defeats the whole point.
“What about the 24th launch day? Pretty sure most people will get the deluxe edition,” asked dillanmtb, and “why not the 24th June when there is the early access?” added yas847, and they do make a fair point.
By the time the “regular” release of Death Stranding 2 comes, we’ll have a ton of spoilers and videos showing the whole game (and someone will surely try to speedrun the whole thing), so the trailer will be a bit redundant, no? But, for those who only consume “official” content and are waiting for the regular release on June 26 (nothing wrong with that!), they will have something to look forward to.
