One Of 2026’s Best Shonen Anime Series Is Officially Ruined Forever

2026 is turning out to be an amazing year for anime. The Winter 2026 anime season has officially begun, with some incredible series like Jujustu Kaisen Season 3, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2, and quite a few other big anime series returning. In the midst of all these incredible series, one also can’t forget about Fire Force. Fire Force has proven to be one of the most popular new shonen anime series, and fans can see why. The story has captivated many, but now, it’s ending. Fire Force Season 3 Part 2 is airing in January, and fans were excited to see this amazing ending unfold.

Sadly, however, Fire Force’s ending seems to have already been ruined. Fire Force Season 3 Part 2 has had 88 chapters to adapt, but just 13 episodes to air. This was always concerning, and it turned out to be a recipe for disaster.

Fire Force’s Final Part Is Officially Ruined

88 Chapters Set To Be Adapted Into 13 Episodes

Fire Force turned was always going to be one of the most anticipated anime series of January 2026. The first season of the anime premiered in 2019, and it has been going strong ever since. After an incredibly strong run, Fire Force is now ending, unfortunately, as that might be. Fans weren’t ready to part ways with the series, but it seems David Production is rushing the anime. The episode count for Fire Force’s last stretch was revealed a while ago, and it’s only 13 episodes long. This shocked fans as the number is far too low to adapt what’s remaining of the manga.

For reference, Fire Force still has 88 chapters to adapt. With 13 episodes, that averages to around 7 chapters per episode. 7 chapters are far too much to cram into one episode. In comparison, a well-paced, average anime episode, typically adapts 2 to 4 chapters per episode.

It’s also possible that, instead of cramming 7 chapters every episode, content will be sacrificed. Fire Force’s final part might be doing a lot of cuts, and removing a lot of content. As is already evident from countless other anime series, this typically never ends well. A big example of an anime being ruined by content being shipped up is The Promised Neverland. Once one of the biggest shonen series, it has now been forgotten due to a terrible anime adaptation. The same fate could be awaiting Fire Force.

Fire Force hasn’t become one of the most popular new anime series over the last few years for no reason. The story of this series has captivated many, even though it might look somewhat unappealing on the surface. Furthermore, while most shonen manga series tend to fail to deliver a satisfying ending, many Fire Force fans would agree that this series has a great ending. In that regard, it makes this final part of Fire Force Season 3 even more disappointing. Fans were patiently waiting to see this amazing ending come to life, but that prospect has already been ruined by the pacing and content cutting.

Fire Force Is Ending Soon

Fire Force Season 3 Part 2 is airing at the moment, and given that the run of this anime is going to be quite short, fans know that it is slowly edging closer to the end. So far, the complaints about the pacing have been rather minimal, but it is quite clear to see in the first few episodes that some of the content has been cut out, and some other has been rushed. Still, David Production has managed to deliver a rather decent adaptation so far, but what’s going to come next remains to be seen. After all, it is incredibly difficult to cram so much content into only a handful of episodes.

Fans are especially tense about the ending of the story, as the last few chapters are truly the peak of the series, and if that were to be ruined, it would be a huge disappointment.
