Slowly at first, and then with aggressive speed, the One Piece anime kept upping the ante with its Devil Fruit combat system. At times, the power scaling went in sharp jumps to throw viewers off-balance, with Enel’s Rumble-Rumble Fruit being a great example. Luffy already had his hands full with Crocodile’s fearsome Sand-Sand Fruit in the Alabasta Arc, but then Enel’s electric fruit changed everything. This is one of One Piece‘s strongest Devil Fruits, even though it appeared so early, and only a few Devil Fruits have since eclipsed it.
Enel was clearly far ahead of the curve back in the Skypiea Arc, and it’s clear the Straw Hat crew only won because of Luffy’s rubber body to counter the wrath of Enel’s Rumble-Rumble Fruit. This electric fruit grants the users intangibility as living lightning while also lending the user extreme speed and searing power as a human bolt of lightning. It’s not easy to top power like that, but a few Devil Fruits pulled it off, including the awakened form of one of those fruits.
The Soul-Soul Fruit Can Build an Entire Army of Powerhouse Homies
User(s): Big Mom
Enel’s powerful Rumble-Rumble Fruit can be stacked up against Devil Fruits of all three categories, starting with the Paramecia class. Among all Paramecias, just a few are in the hands of the Four Emperors, such as Big Mom’s Soul-Soul Fruit. This is an example of a Devil Fruit that can scale up rather easily with the right materials and context, as opposed to simple training to enhance one’s power. The Soul-Soul Fruit scales well since it can put souls in other things to form Homies to fight for the user.
Big Mom/Charlotte Linlin showed One Piece fans the true potential of this army-building Devil Fruit in the Whole Cake Island Arc. Granted, Big Mom also made use of her titanic Haki to terrorize the Straw Hats and the Fire Tank Pirates, but the Soul-Soul Fruit did a lot of work, too. It was lucky Nami turned Zeus to her side, or else the fighting would have been even tougher. The sheer potential of a Soul-Soul Fruit army, in particular, is why this fruit is scarier than Enel’s own.
The Tremor-Tremor Fruit is the Earth-Shaking King of Paramecia Fruits
User(s): Whitebeard, Blackbeard
Another Emperor-worthy Paramecia Devil Fruit is the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, which made all the difference in the Marineford War Arc. Long before fans saw what Big Mom and Kaido could do, Captain Whitebeard demonstrated the fury of the Emperors before One Piece‘s time skip. Whitebeard’s Haki and physical strength are also immense, but the Tremor-Tremor Fruit was the star of the show when Whitebeard started fighting.
One Piece: 6 Devil Fruits Stronger Than Sabo’s Fruit
Sabo inherited Ace’s Devil Fruit, and while it’s nothing to sneeze at, these Devil Fruits are way stronger.
This devastating Devil Fruit can shatter the entire battlefield and destroy nearly anything. What One Piece viewers saw in the Marineford Arc wasn’t even the full power of Whitebeard and his fruit, since Edward Newgate was past his prime, so the Tremor-Tremor Fruit is a true wonder in the combat system. It may not turn Whitebeard intangible or make him move at lightning speed, but its raw damage output maks up for that.
The Mag-Mag Fruit is One of the Navy’s Most Devastating Weapons of War
User(s): Fleet Admiral Akainu/Sakazuki
Logia-type Devil Fruits are most easily compared to each other, and for a time, the Rumble-Rumble Fruit felt like One Piece‘s peak Logia fruit. It definitely outclassed the Sand-Sand and Plume-Plume Fruits, and it even had the edge over Ace’s Flame-Flame Fruit. By the time the Marineford Arc launched, though, a few Logias and even some Paramecias were edging out the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, if only barely. Admiral Akainu’s Mag-Mag Fruit is one such Devil Fruit.

Find all 10 pairs
This still stands as one of One Piece‘s most formidable Devil Fruits of any class, even if Akainu has not been awakened it and probably never will. This searing Devil Fruit exceeds the Flame-Flame Fruit’s heat and may even surpass the Rumble-Rumble Fruit’s own heat, so in theory, Akainu could punch Enel the way he did Ace. The Mag-Mag Fruit also boasts superior destructive potential compared to the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, being capable of turning the entire battlefield to a field of magma.
The Dragon-Dragon Fruit is the Legendary Pride of Elbaph
User(s): Prince Loki
Prince Loki’s Dragon-Dragon Fruit: Nidhogg Model is the most recent Zoan-type fruit to make its appearance in One Piece, and it easily puts most other Zoans to shame. Not even the Five Elders and Rob Lucci can outclass Loki’s Dragon-Dragon Fruit in the field of Zoans, and the Dragon-Dragon Fruit also compares well to even the strongest fruits in the Logia and Paramecia classes.
One Piece‘s manga is still revealing more about Prince Loki’s prowess with the Dragon-Dragon Fruit, but what fans have seen thus far makes it clear Loki has outstripped Enel as a fighter. Most likely, Enel is still faster and boasts his electric intangibility, but Loki has advantages in all other arenas, such as durability and damage output. There is a good reason the Dragon-Dragon Fruit was the legendary treasure of Elbaph, guarded by Ragnir the living hammer.
The Gum-Gum Fruit Has Been Awakened as the Herald of Freedom
User(s): Monkey D. Luffy
For a time, One Piece fans were led to believe the Gum-Gum Fruit was a quaint Paramecia based on rubber, but it’s actually the Human-Human Fruit’s Nika model. Enel once fancied himself a living god in Skypiea, but Luffy is the real deal thanks to Gear 5’s divine power influenced by Nika himself. That’s because, unlike any other Devil Fruit, this fruit operates outside One Piece‘s combat system to represent true freedom and hope.
One Piece: 13 Devil Fruits Stronger Than Gunko’s Fruit
Gunko’s Devil Fruit proved to be incredibly powerful on Elbaf, but there are a few fruits even stronger than hers.
Luffy make a punchline out of Kaido with Gear 5’s limitless power, with a laughing Luffy clobbering that Wano dragon with cartoon physics to win an impossible battle. Luffy did more of the same at Egghead when battling Admiral Kizaru and Jaygarcia Saturn, and most likely, he can still do more as of the Elbaph Arc. For all fans know, this awakened Zoan fruit is truly unbeatable, limited only by Luffy’s hands-on imagination.
The Dark-Dark Fruit Has a Sinister Place Among Logia-Type Fruits
User(s): Blackbeard
It’s possible that aside from Luffy’s awakened fruit, the fearsome Dark-Dark Fruit is the most dangerous Devil Fruit of them all. That’s partly because it has the unique ability to negate other Devil Fruits with a mere touch. Notably, Blackbeard did this even though Ace had a body of fire during their clash at Banaro Island. If he’s quick enough, perhaps aided by his Haki, Blackbeard could grab Enel in a duel and do the same thing. Without his lightning, there isn’t much Enel can do.
Aside from that, the nightmarish Dark-Dark Fruit can crush anyone or anything with the overwhelming power of gravity, which is why Blackbeard likens his abilities to a black hole in outer space. Blackbeard’s Dark-Dark Fruit simply has more destructive potential than Enel’s own fruit, even if the Dark-Dark Fruit doesn’t grant its user the same kind of intangibility that other Logias do. This sinister fruit’s other abilities more than make up for that.
