Most One Piece characters are renowned for their strength. They possess incredible abilities with which they have taken down their foes. However, there have been instances in the story where brains have triumphed over brawn.
Such individuals formulate strategies to beat their opponents, while others use their ingenuity to create gadgets that bail them out of tough situations. The Elbaf arc has been phenomenal in terms of action, which is why fighters have been in the spotlight. However, smart minds also deserve plenty of praise.

Imu
They Have Centuries Worth Of Experience
- Knows the real history of the world
Imu is the current ruler of the World Government. They belong to the Nerona Family, which is one of the founding members of the World Government. Based on evidence, Imu has been alive since the Void Century, meaning they know everything about the world. However, they have managed to hide everything.
Imu cleverly planned the rise of the World Government and created several smaller organizations to support it. Imu has also mastered the use of the Abyss, with which they can gain access to the bodies of other people. Moreover, they seem to have a counter for every ability.

Franky
He Is A Genius Shipwright
- Has made many improvements to the ship
Franky is the shipwright of the Straw Hats Pirates, so his main responsibility is taking care of the Thousand Sunny so that the crew can move freely. He doesn’t look like a smart person, but the truth is that he is a genius.
During the timeskip, Franky was sent to Vegapunk’s hometown, and he used the opportunity to study the scientist’s work. Normal people would have a torrid time understanding Vegapunk’s work, but Franky was able to comprehend it and use it to improve his body. Franky has also made several modifications to the Thousand Sunny so that the ship can weather any storm.

Sanji
Has Rescued The Crew Multiple Times
- He has stopped the crew from being killed many times
Sanji is another character who has featured heavily in the Elbaf arc. He is a member of the Monster Trio, which means that he’s one of the strongest fighters within the crew. Sanji primarily relies on his legs in battles or to bail out his friends from a dangerous situation.
Sanji also has a smart head on his shoulders. He has used his wit to outsmart many enemies, including Crocodile, Enel, and several others. In fact, only Luffy has rescued his crew members more than Sanji. In Elbaf, Sanji’s intelligence will be put to the test once again, and hopefully, he will live up to his reputation.

Nico Robin
She Is Very Knowledgable About The Past
- She knows a lot about history
Nico Robin is one of the more experienced members of the Straw Hat Pirates. She joined the crew after Luffy defeated Crocodile. Since then, Robin has loyally served the rest of the crew. Robin possesses the Hana Hana no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows her to sprout any part of her body. Currently, she is able to create an entire clone.
Robin is extremely knowledgeable about the past because she spends a great deal of time reading books. She is also cunning, which is why it’s easy for her to beat much stronger enemies. It is worth mentioning that Robin is among the select few people who are able to read Poneglyphs. Robin mastered the language when she was still a kid, which proves her genius. Her ability to decipher the Poneglyphs makes her invaluable, and without her, Luffy cannot reach Laugh Tale.

Nami
Capable Of Predicting The Weather
- Understands weather better than anyone else
Nami is the navigator of the Straw Hats, meaning it’s her job to help the crew safely reach new islands. She may not be the best fighter among the crew, but she’s certainly the smartest person. From the beginning, Nami had plenty of knowledge about the weather, which is why she had no problem traveling alone. During the timeskip, Nami studied in Weatheria, where she learned even more about weather. With her training, Nami became capable of predicting the weather and various other phenomena associated with it.
Nami is also skilled at cartography. In fact, Arlomg was so impressed with her skills that he decided to make her a part of his crew. Needless to say, Nami’s skills have only improved with time. Nami made use of her knowledge in fights, and it has helped her to beat many opponents.

Lilith
One Of Vegapunk’s Satellites
- Invented many incredible gadgets
Lilith is the only surviving satellite of Dr. Vegapunk. She was introduced in the Egghead arc as one of the Vegapunks. She is brash, but has an incredibly high intellect. As one of the Vegapunks, Lilith has access to all the information stored by the other satellites. She is able to use this knowledge to help herself and others. For Lilith, even the most complicated is simple.
She traveled to Elbaf with the Straw Hat Pirates, but so far, she hasn’t received enough screen time. Despite this, there is no denying that Lilith is by far and above the smartest person in Elbaf. Hopefully, Oda will make her more involved for the remainder of the arc.
