The One Piece anime is on a roll right now. The series just can’t stop releasing episodes of the highest order. There was a great deal of action and emotion in the episode, which helped it score a whopping 9.8 on IMDb.
One Piece Episode 1137 saw the story return to present-day Egghead Island, which was under siege by Saint. Jaygarcia Saturn and the Marines. They traveled to the island in order to exterminate Dr. Vegapunk and his satellites.

Here’s what One Piece fans can expect from the Egghead arc.
Kuma Saved Bonney From Saturn
Kuma Returned In The Nick Of Time To Save His Daughter
In the episode, Saturn was tormenting Bonney. Nobody present in the vicinity could even move a muscle because of Saturn’s ability, meaning they had to watch as the Godhead crushed the young girl. Luffy could be heard begging for food, as using Gear 5 exhausted all of his stamina.
As the episode progressed, Saturn revealed that he was responsible for conducting experiments on Ginny, which led to her developing the Sapphire Scale disease. He also admitted to feeding Bonney the Toshi Toshi no Mi when she was an infant. Despite the Godhead’s decision causing so much grief to Kuma’s family, he showed absolutely no regrets. Saturn explicitly told Vegapunk that he didn’t care about the feelings of insects. Earlier in the episode, Bonney tried to attack Saturn with the power of Alternate Future, but the Celestial Dragon was hardly affected by it. He already knew that Bonney’s powers were being weakened because she was losing hope.
The situation on Egghead Island was certainly dire, but a hero was already on the way. Bartholomew Kuma used his powers to travel to Egghead Island to rescue Bonney. Despite losing most of his consciousness, Kuma was able to move because he wanted to protect Bonney. He went through a barrage of bullets and cannonballs, but they weren’t enough to stop him. The Buccaneer reached Bonney’s location on time and saved her from Saturn’s attack. He shielded Bonney from a lethal strike using his body, after which he coated his right hand in Haki and then unleashed a strong punch that even shook Jaygarcia Saturn.
One Piece Episode 1138 Release Date
- One Piece Episode 1138 will release on August 3
- New episode will focus on Kuma vs. Saturn
One Piece Episode 1138 will be released on August 3rd, 2025. It is titled “Thank You, Dad – Bonney and Kuma’s Warm Embrace.” The next episode will focus on the aftermath of Kuma’s action on Egghead Island. Before being punched by Kuma, Saturn was enjoying complete freedom. Nobody was able to seriously harm him. Kuma’s strike certainly shook Saturn to his very core, leaving him completely flummoxed.
Judging from the preview of One Piece Episode 1138, it looks like Saturn’s mysterious power is no longer active, as the heroes can move freely. Kuma’s punch basically handed them a lifeline, and they could finally launch a counteroffensive that would help them get off the island in one piece.
It would be remiss to not mention that Kizaru gave Luffy plenty of food, so the pirate should be back in top shape in next to no time. It appears that Kizaru didn’t want to watch Vegapunk being killed, so he decided to help Luffy, who wanted to rescue the scientist. The Admiral couldn’t interfere directly, which is why he considered seeking Luffy. However, it’s unlikely that the pirate will get back to his feet in One Piece Episode 1139 as the focus will be on Kuma and Bonney.
