One Piece Heroines Novel Series Featuring Short Stories on the Women of the Series Is Getting an Anime Adaptation

A new One Piece anime focusing on the women of the series is in the works. Announced during the annual One Piece Day celebration in Tokyo, the One Piece Novel Heroines light novel series is getting an anime adaptation.

The original novels, written by Jun Esaka and illustrated by Sayaka Suwa, are a collection of short stories centred on the series’ female characters. There are currently two volumes, with chapters featuring Nami, Robin, Vivi, Perona, Hancock, Tashigi, Reiju, and Uta.

The anime will be directed by Haruka Kamatani, with character designs by Takashi Kojima and scripts by Momoka Toyoda, who previously worked on One Piece: Fan Letter.

This isn’t the only One Piece anime on the way. Netflix and WIT Studio are also working on a remake of Eiichiro Oda’s series, which will feature its own distinct art style.

Meanwhile, at the same One Piece Day event, Netflix revealed the first look at the live-action One Piece Season 2 and confirmed that Season 3 is also happening.
