Zoro is in dire need of a new power-up in One Piece. The next one will be Haki-related.

The likes of Gol D. Roger were always going to be incredibly relevant in the Final Saga of the story, and as Oda explores the many flashbacks and characters from the past, he also gives everyone a good look at their strength. By now, it’s very well confirmed by Oda that Roger was a monster, but at the same time, Oda has made it clear that one One Piece character is still stronger than him.

Gol D. Roger Was A Monster Like No Other

  • Roger Was Matched By Whitebeard
  • Roger Was The Strongest Of His Era

Gol D. Roger was the man known as the Pirate King and he most certainly was a phenomenal fighter. Roger never backed down from a fight, and his reckless behavior is what caused him to earn incredible fame. Roger was obviously special, despite coming from the weakest sea in the world of One Piece. He didn’t have a Devil Fruit, but he still managed to earn himself a spot amongst the Strongest of the world.

In fact, in his era, Roger was actually the strongest. Hardly anyone compared to him, with the only pirate being known to be strong enough to rival him being Whitebeard. Undoubtedly, Roger was a monster, but that certainly doesn’t mean that he wasn’t bested by anyone. In fact, Oda has already revealed one pirate who is known to have bested Roger. This person was even stronger, and while fans don’t know the full truth of it, they know, at the very least, that Roger couldn’t win against him.

Rocks D. Xebec Was Stronger Than Him

Roger Had To Team Up With Garp To Beat Rocks

The only pirate that Roger fought who was stronger than him is Rocks D. Xebec. Fans know that Roger and Whitebeard were equals, but when it comes to Rocks, things were different. Sengoku openly claimed that Rocks was actually the biggest and most formidable enemy that Roger ever faced. This means that Rocks was actually stronger than Whitebeard. This doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone, given that Rocks was Whitebeard’s Captain.

One Piece: Luffy Is Worth 3 Billion Berries, But His Next Bounty After Elbaf Will Be Insanely High

Luffy is set to get a far higher bounty than his current 3 billion berries after One Piece’s Elbaf arc.

At the same time, Oda confirmed that to beat Rocks, Roger and Garp had to join forces. They are bitter rivals and would only join forces if they knew they couldn’t pull off a victory on their own. In other words, Roger knew that he couldn’t beat Rocks on his own and sought Garp’s help. These two combined to beat Rocks, and that is yet another confirmation of the fact that Rocks was stronger.

Luffy Will Surpass Roger

While Rocks was certainly stronger than Roger, he isn’t the only one. Luffy, the man who will become the next Pirate King, will also go on to become the strongest, and he will far surpass Roger, given that he has the Nika fruit and Haki that is eventually going to be just as good, if not better.
