Supreme Grade Weapons are one of the most interesting aspects of the One Piece story. The unparalleled power of these weapons sets them apart from even the Great Grade Weapons, which are still pretty strong in their own right.

As such, very little is known about these weapons at all since they’ve only been shown sparingly in One Piece. Chapter 1141 of the One Piece manga revealed a lot about the current state of Elbaf and the world. Firstly, it was told that the mythical Adam Tree has two glaring weaknesses despite its seemingly indestructible appearance. While it may be incredibly strong and resistant to most things, it is weak to fire and lightning, which Ripley told Franky about with the example of Haugen village, which was burnt down and the branch that it was located on had to be cut.

Secondly, a brand-new and terrifying reveal was made about Loki’s power. It was already known that he is perhaps the most powerful and imposing character on the entire island of Elbaf due to his mysterious legendary Devil Fruit that somehow turns him into a Sun God. However, to add to his terrifying aura, it is revealed that Loki has a gigantic Warhammer known as Ragnir that was hidden behind him the whole time. Judging by Hajrudin’s reaction, Ragnir seems to be just as infamous as the Accursed Prince himself.

Chapter 1142 seemed to compound on this fact as Loki used the weapon for the first time to strike the base of the Adam Tree. While the blow may just have been incredibly powerful on its own, a huge reveal was made that it was able to conjure fire and lightning upon hitting its target, which shows that there is a lot more to the strength of this weapon than can be seen at first glance.

Ragnir’s special ability allows it to summon the two elements that are needed to destroy the Adam Tree completely, which throws everything about its power and origin into question. And, this is precisely why many fans believe it to be a Supreme Grade Weapon. The true nature of its power is unknown, as it is never explained if the ability to conjure lightning and flames comes from an inherent property of the hammer, if this is only possible through the infusion of Haki, or, most interestingly, if this is a Devil Fruit power.

As has been seen in the earlier arcs of One Piece, it’s possible to imbue a Zoan Type Devil Fruit onto a weapon, giving it unique powers and a will of its own. This is also the prevailing theory that explains the properties of Shamrock’s Cerberus and perhaps even Shanks’ Gryphon blades, so many believe that Loki imbued Ragnir with a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit that gives it these elemental abilities. Some fans even believe that this fruit could be something akin to a Thor fruit.

Due to these powers and its titanic size being bigger than regular giants, a common belief is that Ragnir is a Supreme Grade Weapon that has unparalleled destructive capabilities. Although fans can only wait to see how the lore behind this hammer plays out, it’s certain to be a huge part of Loki’s arsenal and will play a big role as the rest of the Elbaf arc plays out.

So, it’s no secret that they would put a huge focus on martial prowess and the best quality tools of war. Because of this, most fans think that there will almost definitely be at least one Supreme Grade Weapon on this island, while others even believe that there could be several.

This theory is strengthened by the fact that the arc has already placed an incredible emphasis on weapons despite being in its infancy, showing quite a few of them that could very easily be classified as Supreme Grades. Ragnir is obviously one of these, but it’s highly likely that Shamrock’s Cerberus sword and, consequently, Shank’s Gryphon also fall into this category. While these are speculated upon, the massive sword that’s stuck in the Adam Tree is most probably a Supreme Grade Weapon since nothing else like it exists in the world.
