The Crucial P310 is our pick for its blend of speed and affordability, and with a sizeable discount of $90, that rings even more true. It’s also down to £129.90 at Amazon UK.

Still, as James covered in his guide to installing an SSD in your Steam Deck, it’s a fiddlier process than simply pushing a microSD card into your system, so undertake the task at your own risk.

“Full-sized PC parts can be surprisingly sturdy, but the Steam Deck was never really intended to be poked around in,” the man himself said, but if you’ve got a screwdriver and a can-do attitude, it can be a fun way to spend an afternoon if you’re into getting the absolute most out of your handheld console.
