Overwatch returned with a bang on Feb. 10, dropping the 2, introducing a new annual story-driven season cycle, and bringing five new heroes into the mix, too. Its current narrative arc is The Reign of Talon, and if you’ve been enjoying it so far, then even better news is on the way: the arc is about to get a serious upgrade beyond the in-game stories.
Blizzard Entertainment and Webtoon, the global web comic platform with over 85 million monthly users, have partnered up to release an original web comic based on the hero-shooter franchise. Titled Overwatch: Undivided, the 40-episode series follows the events of Season 1: Conquest in the aftermath of Talon’s raid on Watchpoint: Gibraltar. Players were introduced to the new season with the Reign of Talon cinematic trailer, showcasing a hotheaded Vendetta storming the official HQ of Talon to enact a reckoning on Talon’s leadership, removing Doomfist (and his fist) in the process.
With vengeance achieved and now in charge of Talon, Vendetta launched a coordinated assault across the globe — starting with Watchpoint: Gibraltar.

In the aftermath of Talon’s strike on Watchpoint: Gibraltar, the heroes of Overwatch take in their devastating defeat. But Vendetta is far from finished, launching attacks around the world on research facilities, military bases, and major cities. As Sojourn rallies the weary heroes to face Talon wherever they strike, she receives crushing news that calls everything she’s stood for into question: When the world says it doesn’t need heroes, can Overwatch still stand, undivided?
The reaction of the heroes of Overwatch should be fascinating, but we also wonder if the Talon members who defected after Vendetta’s takeover — Reaper, Sombra, and Widowmaker — will also make an appearance. This isn’t the first time Overwatch has used comics, but the rebranding has shifted the game toward a stronger narrative focus, suggesting Blizzard is taking storytelling more seriously.
Overwatch: Undivided will launch exclusively on Webtoon’s English-language platform, with the first three episodes on March 31 at 5 p.m. PDT / 8 p.m. EDT. Episodes 4–8 will be available via Webtoon’s Fast Pass, which can be purchased using Webtoon Coins.
