We recently got the February lineup of games available via PS Plus. But, Sony also announced that PlayStation Plus will gradually shift away from offering PS4 games, starting in 2026.
Sony’s monthly subscription service offers a library of games, that change every month. Subscribers can freely access them and there are usually some good titles there. The February lineup was recently released, and it includes: Payday 3, High on Life, and Pac-Man World Re-Pac. However, there are also some bad news for PS4 users.
From Next Year, Sony Will Stop Offering PS4 Exclusives on PlayStation Plus
Sony says that the majority of their player base is currently using PS5, rather than PS4. They decided to follow suit, and to offer more PS5 titles, starting January 2026. “As we shift to PS5, PS4 games will no longer be a key benefit and will only be occasionally offered for PlayStation Plus Monthly Games and Game Catalog starting January 2026. We may still provide titles that can be playable on both PS4 and PS5 consoles after this date.”
It is important to note that those PS4 games already redeemed via PS Plus Monthly Games, will still be accessible, as long as you remain a member. “For Game Catalog, PS4 games will still be available to play until it leaves the catalog as part of our monthly refresh…As we shift our focus to PS5, we look forward to adding new PS5 titles monthly for you to enjoy.”
It was inevitable that Sony’s focus would turn to PS5 and other future projects. We’ve seen fewer major releases optimized for PS4 in recent months, as PS5 and PS5 Pro are all the rage now. PlayStation will continue to push toward next-gen experiences, meaning that PS4 players will have less to look forward to, and will have to upgrade to PS5 to keep up.
