Best Primarina ex Deck in Pokemon TCG Pocket, Explained

primarina ex

Primarina ex is a decent ace Pokemon that has emerged for Water-type decks, equipped with a solid 180 HP, the Hydro Pump attack, which can deal increased damage with additional Energy equipped, and the Sparkling Aura move, which both damages the opponent while healing Primarina, helping better survivability.

Pyukumuku makes the perfect lead / early game Pokemon to pair with Primarina for support, as the Sprinkle Water move can deal 20 damage a turn at just 1 Energy equipped. Furthermore, if Pyukumuku suffers from a knockout, the Innards Out ability may put you back on even ground by dealing enough damage to also knock out the opponent’s early-game Active Pokemon.

Primarina will act as your primary ace once you get it set up and in play; however, the rest of the deck is filled with Supporter and Item cards that grant Primarina more damage prowess and survivability. Hau acts as a damage buff, enabling you to dish out 30 extra damage with a hit. Leftovers play nicely with Primarina’s Sparkling Aura to buff the healing per turn, giving a huge boost to survivability whilst in the Active Spot.

Pokemon Tools such as Rocky Helmet and Giant Cape further push this survivability by applying additional HP and damage over each turn. Lillie can provide a substantial healing boost if you get into the danger zone, and then Primarina can use other Pokemon Tools and its own move to regen further. Again, Irida offers a smaller boost of healing to any monster with Water Energy equipped, coming in handy for both Primarina and avoiding a crucial Pyukumuku knockout that may set you back. With the combination of all of the cards in this deck, you will be looking to deliver 200+ damage per turn, as well as passive healing each turn to outlast the enemy. However, as this relies heavily on Primarina, you will need to be careful when playing into counters or other situations that may be able to wither Primarina down despite the passive heals.
