Pokemon TCG Pocket Leak Reveals High Class Pack EX Set

Pokemon TCG Pocket Leak Reveals High Class Pack EX Set

Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s next miniset has apparently leaked, revealing its possible title and an unusual approach to card distribution. Many Pokemon TCG Pocket fans believe the A4b set is the final entry in the A-series expansions, and this leak may confirm that theory.

Long-time fans are used to seeing Pokemon TCG Pocket sets leak a few days before launch. A notable detail about past leaks is that nearly all came from official accounts posting something early, rather than from insiders or data miners. This new leak for Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s upcoming A4b set seems to follow the same pattern, but there’s more to the story. If the leaked information is accurate, the miniset will mark a first for the series.

Pokemon TCG’s Next Set May Let Players Catch Up on Missed Cards

The official Japanese Pokemon TCG Pocket account reportedly posted the full teaser trailer for the anticipated A4b set early. The now-deleted tweet revealed that the expansion is set for a September 30 release and will likely be called “High Class Pack EX,” though that’s the literal translation of the Japanese title and could differ from the English version. Additionally, the set is said to contain no new cards, instead re-releasing Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s A-series cards with the same or updated illustrations. In other words, the expansion may focus on helping players complete their Pokedex before B-series cards start rolling out.

Another noteworthy detail about the leaked set is that its booster packs will contain fewer cards. Instead of the usual five, fans will get four-card packs this time. The catch is that one of these four cards is reportedly a guaranteed EX or four-diamond card, which explains the High Class Pack EX title. This is an interesting shift, as DeNA only recently introduced six-card booster packs to Pokemon TCG Pocket and is now adding four-card ones.

With the A4b set seemingly leaked, debate about the future of competitive game modes has reignited. Some previously suggested that Pokemon TCG Pocket would retire A-series cards once the B-series era begins. Now, some fans believe the rumored High Class Pack EX set confirms this theory, arguing that DeNA wants to give players a chance to complete their collections before these cards are removed from certain PvP modes, such as ranked play.

Others, however, argue that it’s too early for Pokemon TCG Pocket to rotate its card roster. As an example, they point to the physical Pokemon TCG, which typically rotates out cards that have been around for several years. While it’s unclear if DeNA plans to launch the A4b set in preparation for a card rotation, the miniset still seems likely to provide players with another opportunity to collect any missing cards from their collections.
