During Pokemon Day 2024, Pokemon Unite revealed the addition of new Pokemon with the debuts of Miraidon, Ceruledge, and Falinks. With the arrival of the first two, the game increased the list of pocket monsters from Paldea in the game, which already has Armarouge, Meowscarada, and Tinkaton. The game released the Prize Machine event, which gives players a chance to obtain popular holowear such as Sunshine Style: Venusaur for free. A balance update was also released, with buffs and nerfs for several characters, items, and general improvements.

In addition to the new characters revealed, the developers have released a new update that brings back Remoat Stadium. The game’s original map will be available in Pokemon Unite ranked matches from February 27 at 04:00 UTC until March 12 at 23:59 UTC. Pokemon Unite has added a mode called First to 500, in which the team that scores 500 points first wins. To give the mode an extra twist, players get special effects when they score 50, 100, 200, and 350 points. Among the quality of life improvements, the current map and wild Pokemon have been updated, optimizing the game’s graphics.
The free Pokemon Unite update released to celebrate Pokemon Day 2025 also brought new buffs and nerfs. With this, improvements came to older critters in the game like Absol, Gengar, and Talonflame, while more recent additions like Miraidon, Tinkaton, and Urshifu had their power reduced. Players can also use the code POKEDAY25 and redeem a platinum Suicune boost emblem in-game, and use all Pokemon as part of the free license test event, which will run until March 2 and be available except in ranked matches. The store and events have been updated, and conquest missions for new monsters have been added.
