The Power Rangers are easily some of the most recognizable American Tokustatsu superheros in existence. The series is widely known for its special effects and groundbreaking battles. Among the rangers, none are more iconic than the Red. That being said, many of the most iconic Red Rangers wouldn’t have reached the same heights without their signature Zords.
Zords are an integral part of nearly every Power Rangers iteration. They help the team fight bad guys that would normally be impossible to tackle. The Red Rangers’ Zords are typically the best designed aspects of each respective series. While that isn’t always the case, many of the coolest Rangers in the series are ultimately defined by their signature Zord. Yet, only one of the Red Ranger’s Zord can really be considered the best of the best.

The Super Mega Skyship Zord Perfectly Blends Sci-Fi and Fantasy
Power Rangers: Super Megaforce
The Super Mega Skyship is one of the coolest vehicle-based Zords in the entire series. The build combines sci-fi and fantasy in the best way possible. A sailing ship-based Zord alone would’ve been cool, but combining it with a spacecraft is almost over the top. The Zord is also incredibly fast in relation to its galleon-like size. Sadly, Tro Burrows never uses the ship to its fullest potential.
Power Rangers: 10 Best Zords, Ranked
The Power Rangers’ various zords are easily one of the most important fixtures in the series, but some Zords are far better than others.
The Skyship’s Super Sentai counterpart is a fully functional part of the series. It is somewhat important in Super Megaforce, but the Rangers’ don’t really need to travel anywhere outside of earth. Moreover, many of the Rangers prefer to use their own vehicles for transportation. This changes in the sequel series to align with the Sentai, but many fans feel the Skyship is underutilized compared to other breakout Zords.

The Lion Fire Zord Is One of the Better Designed Modern Zords
Power Rangers: Ninja Steel
The Lion Fire Zord is one of the best-designed modern Zords. It absolutely nails the Lion motif, while being an undeniable powerhouse of defense. Most toylines refer to the Lion Fire Zord as the Lion Fire Fortress Zord, just to elaborate on its impressive durability. The Lion Fire Zord even has a Megazord form, making it the best ouyt of Ninja Steel Red’s available Zords.
Power Rangers: 10 Best Red Ranger Battlizers, Ranked
The Power Rangers toy deals ended up creating the coolest part of each individual series, but some Battlizers are much better than others.
Not only does the Lion Fire Zord have access to its own Megazord form, but it can also form with additional Zords to form the Ninja Blaze Ultrazord, one of the most powerful of its kind. As far as end-tier Zords go, the Lion Fire Zord is easily the greatest of the modern series. The series might not have had the opportunity to utilize the monster to its full potential, but its design remains a beloved part of the newer series.

The Eagle Racer Perfectly Combines Two of the Franchises’ Most Important Elements
Power Rangers: RPM
When Power Rangers’ fans think of Zords, they are usually broken up into three categories. Zords based on humanoids, Zords based on technology, and Zords influenced by animals. The Red Eagle Racer combines two of the most important categories and beautifully pulls them off. The Eagle Racer mainly takes the form of a race car, but there are some animal motifs within the designs.
The Eagle Racer is one of the most consistent parts of the RPM series. It might be one of the sillier designs of a more serious iteration, but the franchise somehow makes it work. Obviously, the Eagle Racer isn’t the fastest of the Zords, but the RPM series had audiences believing it was. It might not be Scott Truman’s most powerful Zord, but it remains his most iconic.

The Gosei Dragon MechaZord Is One of the Best Dragon-Inspired Zords In the Series
Power Rangers: Megaforce
The Gosei Dragon MechaZord is easily one of the best parts of a hated series. Power Rangers Megaforcee is often considered the worst of the worst the franchise has to offer. That couldn’t be further from the truth as far as the Zords are designed. The Gosei Dragon MechaZord has one of the best Dragon Designs in the series and is capable of forming almost anywhere.
The Gosei Dragon head is technically the only actual Zord part of the creature and its body is often borrowed from a passing plane. The Mechazord can breathe fire like a regular dragon, with the addition of lethal missiles. The Dragon is the pivotal part of the Gosei Great Megazord and easily the greatest part of the entire iteration. It might be one of the fastest Zords in the series, but that doesn’t mean it outclasses any others on the list.

The Tiger Animal Spirit Is One of the Best Parts of the Jungle Fury Iteration
Power Rangers: Jungle Fury
The Tiger Spirit Animal is one of the most clever parts of the Jungle Fury iteration of Power Rangers. The beast itself is a Spirit and a manifestation of Casey Rhodes’ Animal Spirit. It isn’t always at such a large height and is typically controlled directly by Casey’s spirit. He might not be the most traditional of students, but he clearly knows the proper way to harness his spirit animal.
As far as maneuverability goes, The Tiger Animal Spirit is unmatched. Since it is really just a spirit, the monster is capable of all kinds of interesting attack combinations. Casey might obtain additional roles and Zords during his career, but there is a reason he always returns to the Tiger Spirit Animal.

The S.W.A.T. Flyer 1 Is the Best of the Space-Esque Zords
Power Rangers: S.P.D.
As far as the space-faring Zords go, The S.W.A.T. Flyer 1 is undoubtedly the coolest. It is only introduced in the final episodes of the series, due to how powerful the technology truly is. Jack Landors can also only use the S.W.AT. Flyer 1, while engaged in S.W.A.T. mode, making it one of the most powerful Zords in the entire iteration. It might not have the time to shine of other Zords in the franchise, but it clearly makes an impression.
Clocking in at speeds above Mach 3, there are virtually no land-based Zords faster than the vehicle. Not only that, but ic an come together with the other S.W.A.T. Zords to form a giant modular cannon. Vehicle-based Zords aren’t typically some of the most powerful in the series, but the S.W.A.T Flyer’s capabilities simply cannot be denied.

The Tyrannosaurus Dinozord Is an Iconic Zord From a Classic Rangers Era
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
The Tyrannosaurus Dinozord is one of the original Zords and one of the most iconic parts of the entire series. As far as early Zord designs go, it is one of the best and the series didn’t find a better Tyrannosaurus design for a long time. Suffice it to say that given Jason was the clear leader of the group, at the time, he had the most powerful Zord.
The Mighty Morphin Red Rangers first Zord isn’t the most powerful in the original iteration. Yet, it is the most powerful the original Rangers have access to. The Zord was unfortunately destroyed, but its memory and feats live on within the series and is later returned to its former glory within Power Rangers Beast Morphers. The later seires might not be entirely popular, but it made a good decision returning the original Zords to the fray.
3
The Mystic Firebird Is the Best Fantasy-Based Zord in the Franchise
Power Rangers: Mystic Force
The Mystic Firebird Zord is easily one of the best fantasy designs within the entire seriese. Not only that, but it gives the Red Mystic Force Ranger an incredible power-up. Most Zords that provide the same feature only do one aspect well, but the Mystic Firebird functions equally well as a power-up and Zord itself. The Mystic Firebird can also form a separate Megazord if combined with the Mystic Lion Zord.
10 Best Red Power Rangers, Ranked
The Red Rangers are usually the strongest and most capable members of every Power Rangers team, but that isn’t always the case.
The Manticore Megazord is one of the only beasts capable of besting Koragg in battle. It might have been destroyed by Octumus the Master, but it is likely residing within the Morphin Grid. As Power Rangers Megaforce demonstrated, even previously destroyed aspects of technology can either be repaired within or outside the morphin grid. Moreover, there’s a high chance Billy Cranston has been fixing each of the franchise’s defunct Zords due to his familiarity with the morphin grid and the rangers as a whole.
2
The Red Lion Wildzord Feels the Most Alive out of the Classic Zords
Power Rangers: Wildforce
The Red Lion Wildforce Zord is technically alive, and the series does a fantastic job demonstrating that fact. On top of having a will of its own, the Red Lion Wildzord is also frighteningly powerful. The Zord is so powerful that it is a regular mainstay of the future iteration, Power Rangers Megaforce. The design changes somewhat between iterations, but its speed remains consistent throughout.
Power Rangers: 8 Strongest Purple Rangers, Ranked
There aren’t too many Purple Power Rangers in the franchise but these are the strongest of the bunch.
The Zord has the ability to grow giant, in addition to its already impressive height. The Red Lion Wildforce Zord is also one of the fastest land-based Zords within the series. Without the beast, Cole Evans might not have reached the same heights that fans know and love him for today.
1
The Red Tyrannozord Is the Best Thing To Come of the O.G. Disney Era of Power Rangers
Power Rangers: Dino Thunder
The Red TyrannoZord is the best Tyrannosaurus-based Zord in the entire series. It is also one of the most powerful Zords, period. It might not have superior stats, but the way the Zord is depicted moving is unmatched. It is entirely mechanical, but moves faster and more fluid than an actual biological creature. Moreover, each of the Dino Thunder Rangers has a genuine bond with their Zord, making the Red Tyrannozord even cooler.
The beast’s tail can even form a powerful drill capable of sheer destruction. It might not be the most powerful Zord of all time, but it is the most powerful of the Red Rangers’ main Zords. It is also the best designed Zord within the entire series. When it comes to a Red Rangers’ Zord, it simply doesn’t get much better.
