PowerWash Simulator 2 has split-screen co-op for “twice the wash-power”

Zen-like spout splasher PowerWash Simulator is getting a sequel, and you need to get some mates: it’s got both couch co-op and shared online campaign progression. It’s also self-published by FuturLab this time, which likely means less Final Fantasy motorbikes but more revenue for the developers to make their own gilded nozzles. Here’s a trailer.

“PowerWash Simulator 2 feels like a natural evolution from its predecessor,” says Design Director Dan Chequer. “The original game’s design was all about eliminating anything that detracted from the pure satisfaction of taking something dirty and making it clean. PowerWash Simulator 2 is all about adding in even more avenues for players to achieve that same sense of satisfaction, with new tools, features and quality of life improvements.”

The new campaign will have you “uncovering more of Muckingham’s mysteries” (In case you didn’t know, PowerWash simulator has actual lore). When you’re not mucking in using “enhanced soap that clings to stubborn stains and annihilates dirt”, you’ll be able to relax and decorate your home with furniture and trinkets you’ve collected.

The original game has attracted over 17 million water pressure sickos since releasing in 2022, which Futurlab say has given them the opportunity to self-publish. PowerWash is an indie game now! I can use the special indie tag! It was also one of RPS’ favourites that year, and has gotten a bucket load of updates and DLC since, most recently this Wallace And Gromit pack. PowerWash Simulator 2 is due for release this year, and Futurlabs say they’ll be ready to share more in April.
