While players can’t just stand in a General Store and eat the entire stock of snacks, it’s definitely a good idea to stock up on them and eat a couple before heading out to do some activities. Just be sure to eat at least 3 snacks a day to give Arthur a tasty treat between larger meals.

This might make Arthur the perfect prized eater, but in actuality, players are just wasting their time and their resources by eating non-stop. Instead, try and waste some cores.

When cores are low, Arthur can eat the right thing for what’s missing so that he can become satisfied with what he’s eaten, regain lost cores, and put on weight. The easiest core to drain is stamina, simply by running around or using a row boat, and then eating something when it’s slightly low, just to repeat the process.

Doing so counts as a time skip so that Arthur can eat a few things, set up a camp, tear down said camp, and then do it all over again. This will be a quick and surefire way to get Arthur’s weight up above and beyond what is desired.

There are some essential story beats to make note of, and because of what happens, weight is going to be the least of the player’s concerns, so try to get nice and plump before starting the final mission of Chapter 4, as that takes players directly into Chapter 5.

It’s hard to fatten up in Chapter 5 anyway, but once Chapter 6 hits, players will not be able to gain any weight, so there’s no point over-eating and forcing Arthur to struggle to go on with his gluttony, so keep this in mind for when trying to make Arthur put on the calories.

As such, it should become clear to players that they shouldn’t let Arthur sleep. There aren’t many advantages to sleeping in the early chapters anyway, and if players skip this process to eat in the right ways, they will be the right size in no time and can return to Arthur’s life as normal.
