Well, we have waited long enough. It looks like we may get a reveal for Resident Evil 9 at the upcoming Summer Game Fest.
The last RE title we had was Village. Released in 2021, it was awarded numerous accolades and proved to be very popular, both as a game and for its characters. Lady Dimitrescu became one of the most recognizable villains in the modern gaming world, and she was all over the place. Now, that was all years ago (four years, to be exact), and we think it’s time for a new Resident Evil. And it looks like that may become a reality, as insiders claim we are in for a RE9 reveal pretty soon.
Possible Resident Evil 9 Reveal at Summer Game Fest 2025
According to a reliable insider, Dusk Golem, we will most likely get a reveal for RE9 during Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest, scheduled from June 6 to June 9, 2025. This is one of the biggest summer gaming events, where we’ll get to see a ton of reveals and new stuff about existing games. As for the RE9 reveal, Dusk Golem said that he can’t guarantee, but that he’s “95% positive we’re on the verge of RE9 being revealed at SGF.”
Even though he can’t guarantee it, according to his prior experience with Capcom and releases, he says that “for the first time ever the gossip around RE9 is very hot, in a way it usually is close to RE game announcements.” He adds that another reliable insider, Andi from Screenwave Germany, said it’s happening on June 6, adding to the certainty.
Others point out that the 30th anniversary of the Resident Evil franchise is next year, so we will definitely get a reveal pretty soon, most likely announcing a game for the next year. The Summer Game Fest is right around the corner and we’re all excited for some official reveals.
