A Resident Evil fan has shared their cosplay of series protagonist Jill Valentine. The effort and design is based upon Jill’s appearance in the Resident Evil remake that launched for the GameCube in 2002.
Most Resident Evil fans are likely focused on the future, given the reveal of Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth main entry in the series. However, it’s likely not the only entry in the series that fans are thinking about. Requiem will launch just ahead of the 30th anniversary of the original Resident Evil releasing for the PlayStation, which is bringing back fond memories for long-time veterans and fans of the games.
Resident Evil Fans Still Love Jill Valentine
Veerilycos, one such fan of the early days of Resident Evil, has shared their cosplay of STARS member Jill Valentine, as she appeared in the Resident Evil remake. The overall look is an impressive likeness to the original, with the cosplayer choosing a perfect shade of blue for Jill’s classic outfit. Her iconic STARS beret, holster, and shoulder pads are all present, and the area chosen for the photo is a bit reminiscent of some of the eerie windows in the original Spencer Mansion. Fans in the comments have shared tons of praise for the cosplayer’s effort in bringing the survival horror heroine to life.
It’s clear that Jill Valentine is still an extremely popular character among the Resident Evil fanbase, but sadly, she hasn’t had much time to shine in the spotlight in recent years. Jill has been a playable character in side games like Resident Evil: Resistance and Resident Evil: Re:Verse, and is slated to appear in the upcoming mobile game Resident Evil Survival Unit. However, in terms of normal main series entries, she has been largely missing for a long time. Jill was brought back to the forefront of fans’ minds with the release of Resident Evil 3 Remake, in which she stars, and from her appearance in the Resident Evil: Death Island film. In terms of new mainline games, though, fans have been left wanting.
At the moment, it’s not clear if Jill will be making an appearance in any upcoming main series Resident Evil games. Fans are still holding their breath to see if some additional familiar faces appear in Resident Evil Requiem. Given that the game is returning to Raccoon City after all this time, it’s likely that some characters who were present during the original disaster will make an appearance. For now, though, it’s largely been left to speculation.
