It looks like the devs are really leaning into releasing new skins every two weeks. Just now, they revealed a new dog skin for The First Descendant, scheduled to be released in the upcoming update, but the fans are a bit disgusted by it.
Skins are what is selling the most in TFD, and Nexon knows it. It is a fact that the majority of skins are for the ladies, and the “revealing” ones are the most popular. But every now and then, Nexon releases a skin that is completely different from what you’d expect, usually something silly (the last one was a “Corny” outfit). Now, they have done it again, but this time, it backfired.
The First Descendant Players Disgusted With Nexon’s Latest Design Choice as the Quirky Dog Skin Clashes with the Game’s Mature Aesthetic
Nexon’s latest skin reveal for The First Descendant has the community a bit disgusted and severely disappointed. The teased skin, which features a whimsical dog costume for a Descendant, complete with overalls, was likely meant to inject some lighthearted fun into the game. Instead, it’s sparked a wave of confusion and criticism from fans who feel it clashes with the game’s tone. While few see the humor, others are calling it a “ruff” misstep in design. Additionally, there is a cute skin for our Fellows, but no one is having issues with that one. Either way, the internet is barking back.
The official reveal post on X is filled with comments like “Omg who sanctioned this? Sack them now get real guys this is just awful“, “When I play a rated M game, I expect rated M content, not this…”, and “Who asked for this??!”. No one is having issues with the skin for the Fellow; it is the supposed skin for the Descendants that is the problem. And with the recent theories that TFD will get darker, skins like this are really out of place.
However, there is a small chance that this is just a silly promo image just for the Fellow skin, ie, it is not a skin for the Descendants (no matter how real it looks). One can hope.
