Some long-awaited Gears of War news and reveals are allegedly on the way. According to rumors, the Gears of War Collection will be announced at the Xbox Showcase 2025 for PlayStation 5, and Gears of War E-Day is allegedly scheduled for 2026.
Gears of War is a popular series of sci-fi third-person shooters. It started in 2006 with the first Gears of War game, made for Xbox 360. The games generally follow Marcus Fenix as the protagonist, protecting humanity from the subterranean Locust Horde. The series launched a bunch of spin-offs, books, comic books, and even a board game. The last Gears game, Gears 5, was released back in 2019. The next one, called Gears of War E-Day, is supposedly scheduled for 2026, according to a popular source. Furthermore, a collection of all Gears of War games is also supposedly coming to PS5.
Gears of War Collection for PlayStation 5 Announced in June and Gears of War E-Day Scheduled for 2026, According to eXtas1s
A popular information source from Spain, eXtas1s says that a source has revealed to him that Gears of War E-Day is scheduled for 2026. There is also a small possibility that it will get moved to 2025. Furthermore, the source also revealed that the Gears of War Collection is scheduled for this year and will be officially revealed during the Xbox Showcase 2025. They add that there is no info on a Nintendo Switch 2 port.
On the other hand, a lot of gamers are skeptical about eXtas1s and his info. As commented in a Reddit post about this reveal, “Didn’t he say that Tony Hawk 3 and 4 was being announced and shaddowdropped at Xbox Showcase but in the end it is getting revealed tomorrow?” asked NeonG95, and “Time for exstasis to throw like 30 darts and then act like he’s reliable when 2 of them actually connect with the board,“ added Dull-Caterpillar3153. To be fair, he was right about some things before (like the Forza Horizon 5 PS5 port delay), so it’s not all bleak. But, better take all of this with a grain of salt.
