Season 2 Is Live! Some Marvel Rivals Players Are Loving It, While the Others Are Reporting Game-Crushing Issues

It’s here! The update is completed, and the White Queen has joined the roster. The Hellfire Gala has officially begun. Season 2 of Marvel Rivals has started, and so far, there is a handful of pressing issues that need to be dealt with.

Season 2 of Marvel Rivals Has Begun

On April 11, the Marvel Rivals devs took to the official X account and announced the start of the Season. They noted: “Season 2 of Marvel Rivals starts right now! The gates of the Hellfire Gala are now open to all guests willing to prove themselves as legends. Dive into Season 2 to discover new maps, a brand new battle pass, exclusive Twitch Drops, and so much more”.

The devs added: “Take on new challenges and exude your might as our newest Vanguard, Emma Frost, right now! As we begin a new chapter together, we’d like to thank you all for your dedication and support. We’re so excited to ignite the battle once more with you all, Rivals”.

Some Players Have Encountered Huge Issues

On paper, Season 2 of Marvel Rivals seems just perfect, however, some players have already encountered some issues. You may have heard that the devs released an experimental Switch Shader Compilation Mode. This mode is meant to provide players with a smoother experience, but it seems it’s doing the opposite.

One player, Tan, stated: “So, I’ve turned on the new experimental mode and it did help the game to load faster, but somehow it made the game have more frame drops and lag. I tried switching around the settings and even using the in-game optimization button, and the game keeps lagging or freezing every single time I get into a team fight”.

Aside from that, many players reported lag, FPS drops, not being able to invite their friends, and some players even reported missing Units. Also, numerous players reported that their game would occasionally just crash.

Even though the first reviews of everything added in Season 2 are actually quite positive, these looming issues are putting off players from joining in on the fun. Hopefully, the devs are already on it, and they’ll issue some sort of hotfix soon. In the meantime, if your game keeps crashing, try not to stress too much over it. And, if you are among the lucky players whose game runs smoothly, enjoy, and see you out there.
