On August 4, 2025, it was confirmed that Akane Banashi will be receiving an anime adaptation. Prior to the official announcement, there was a leak that confirmed the Akane Banashi anime adaptation. When the official statement was released, fans weren’t too surprised. However, they were still thrilled by it.
Akane Banashi’s anime adaptation is set to release sometime in 2026, which adds to the already stacked anime lineup of the year. At the time of writing, a proper release date has not been disclosed, but that’s to be expected as the adaptation was just announced. Fans will have to wait for a few months before the official accounts share an update. There’s a good chance that the Akane Banashi anime will release in Summer 2026 or Fall 2026, since the studio will want enough time to finish the production.
While the release date has not been made public yet, other details about the project have been disclosed. For starters, Studio Zexcs will be handling the production. Zexcs may not be a big name, but it has a solid track record. Some of the studio’s works can be found below:

Akane Banashi also released a new visual and a teaser for the anime. The visual features Akane, the main protagonist of the series. The teaser can be considered a promotional video for the anime. It includes several characters and gives fans an idea of what to expect in terms of designs and animation.

Additionally, the Akane Banashi anime revealed three voice actors who will be involved with the project. These are
- Akane will be voiced by Nagase Anna
- Karashi will be voiced by Takuya Eguchi
- Hikaru will be voiced by Rie Takahashi
Akane Banashi is based on the manga of the same name written by Yuki Suenaga. The manga began serialization in 2022 but has already sold more than 2 million copies. Additionally, the manga has been recommended by Eiichiro Oda, the author of One Piece.
