Silent Hill 2 Remake is one of the best video games released in 2024. It had an awesome start, and now, not even four months after the official release, Silent Hill 2 Remake sold over two million copies.
In October of 2024, Bloober Team and Konami released the remake of one of the most popular horror games ever, Silent Hill 2. The devs did an awesome job in preserving the original concept and spirit of the game while updating the engine, graphics, and mechanics to be up to date with today’s standards. The hype was so big that a million copies were sold in less than one week, making it the fastest-selling game in the series. And now, not ever four months after the official release, another milestone has been reached.
Silent Hill 2 Remake Sold Over Two Million Copies Worldwide
PR Times, a Japanese public relations company, reported that “Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that cumulative shipments of “Silent Hill 2 Remake” (both on PlayStation 5 and Steam), which was released on Tuesday, October 8th last year, have surpassed 2 million copies shipped worldwide.”
They continue saying: “Just three months after its release, this title has garnered overwhelming support and critical acclaim from gamers and media both in Japan and overseas. It won six awards in the “PlayStationBlog Game of the Year 2024,” a voted-for game by players, including a Platinum Trophy for the “Story Award,” and has received numerous awards around the world, including the “Outstanding Visual Style” award at the “2024 Steam Awards.”
This is a major win for Bloober Team, who are already working on their next title, Cronos: The New Dawn. This goes to show that with a dedicated team and a great plan, you can make something worthwhile. Shame that we didn’t get the Lord of the Rings-inspired horror game, but hey, there is still time.
