After escaping the fields, Hinako is pulled back into the Dark Shrine Corridors in Chapter 4 of Silent Hill f. In the Corridors, the atmosphere feels heavier, and the challenges are far more threatening. While this chapter doesn’t revolve around a major puzzle, the maze-like design demands careful exploration. The Corridors Chapter is also where you’ll face your first main boss in Silent Hill f. This walkthrough will guide you through each section of the Corridors chapter to help you find all the hidden items and collectibles.
Wake Up And Check the Map
When Hinako wakes up, she’ll already be inside the otherworldly Dark Shrine, holding a Lantern. The shrine’s layout has shifted since her last visit, so bring up your map to study the new pathways. Once ready, continue moving north until you spot the faint blue glow of the Fox Mask in the distance. It’ll disappear instantly, and your objectives will update accordingly.
Find a Way to the Sacred Door
Your first objective is to find the Sacred Door. Start walking north until you approach a building and are startled by a loud crashing sound. Circle around to the building’s east side, where you’ll find a door left open. Step inside, and you’ll find the room in a mess. Check the left wall to examine some Messy Scrawls, and look straight ahead to spot a narrow opening you can squeeze through.
Crawl through the gap, and on your right, you’ll find a drawer containing Divine Water. Once collected, exit the room and keep walking west. Take a right turn, continue forward until you hit a dead end, and then turn right again.
Follow the left-hand path into a western room. Crawl through another tight passage here, and you’ll find the Storage Key sitting beside a set of drawers. From there, continue straight until you reach your first save point. Interact with the shrine to pray and record your progress.
With the Storage Room Key in hand, crawl back through the passage you came from. This time, take a left and enter the room directly ahead. Open the drawer to collect a Yokan, and examine the area in front of you to pick up an Ancient Note.
Investigate the Strange Object
After picking up the ancient note, move around to the opposite side of the room. Interact with the altar to inspect it closely. Your next objective is to find the missing piece. To do so, exit the room and take a right, following the pathway straight ahead. At the end, you’ll find a door on your left. Use the Storage Key to unlock it, then crawl through to the other side of the room.
On the left, you’ll find a letter titled “A Warning”, and near it, Hinako’s Doll holds an important message. After reading both, backtrack slightly until you notice an open door directly ahead.
In the newly unlocked room, you’ll be greeted by walls covered in numerous paintings. Move to the bottom-left corner of the room to collect the Inari Sculpture.
Now, return to the altar and place the Inari Sculpture in its center. Doing so triggers a hidden passage to open. Enter the passage, and a brief cutscene will commence. You’ll face the Blade Leg Monster here. Instead of engaging in combat, sprint forward and grab the Naginata weapon.
Escape and Head to the Sacred Door
Once you pick up the Naginata, you’ll notice that your Lantern has been destroyed. The doors will automatically open, and you can continue moving toward the Sacred Door. As you exit, you’ll see a room illuminated by lanterns and a red mist hanging over. On your left, you’ll spot a Hokora Shrine.
Before approaching the Sacred Door, make your way to the southwest corner of this area to collect the Red Capsules.
Inspect the Sacred Door
Interact with the door and the Inari Statue. While the door won’t open, doing so triggers a mysterious voice calling out to you. Continue walking heading west, and the map will gradually reveal the surrounding area. Be careful as you walk through this zone, as monsters can ambush you.
Up north, you’ll find a small room worth exploring. Upon entering, check the drawer immediately on your left to collect a Bandage, then examine the right side of the room to pick up an Omamori [Hawk].
Next, leave the room and continue west. Take down the monsters and go through the open door on the right. Inside, you’ll find yourself in a Library.
Explore the Library and Nearby Rooms
Once you enter the library, take your time to explore it. Follow these steps to explore and collect all items:
- Turn right from the entrance, then take the first right to find a Housemaid’s Note by a candle.
- Across from it, interact with a book on the shelf. Continue down the center; on your left, near a cushion, pick up a document. On the right, first go left to collect the Family Physician’s Log, then check the book on the shelf.
- At the end of the library, squeeze through a gap on the left to hear a voice.
- Then, walk east to a pile of books to grab the Research Notes on “Enmi-jugonroku”.
- Check the bench with a cushion and candles to pick up a Dried Carcass, and the next left to collect Red Capsules.
- Exit the library heading south, watch for a monster, then go down a small blocked corridor to collect Arare.
- Continue west through more blocked paths; at the southern edge, grab Kudzu Tea.
- Cross the bridge (beware of a monster) and enter a room with a Hokora.
- In the southeast corner, collect Divine Water, and near the Hokora on the west side, pick up a Yokan.
- Exit south, enter the next room, head to the altar, and pick up the Stone Orb.
Follow the Voice
As you make your way back, a new monstrosity will appear, but there’s no need to engage it. Simply run past the enemies, dodging the waves of attackers that spawn along the way. When you reach the Sacred Door, Hinako automatically places the Stone Orb into the Inari’s mouth. This triggers another cutscene and unlocks the next area.
Inside the new room, explore carefully. On the west side, you’ll find a Hokora, along with a Bandage, First Aid Kit, and Divine Water. On the east side, there’s another Bandage, First Aid Kit, and a Blessed Hand Mirror, which is an Omamori you can equip for added benefits.
Walk through the next door, and you’ll eventually see a figure crying on the floor. This is Sakuko, the first major boss of the game.
Defeat Sakuko
This fight is unlike anything you’ve faced so far. Every hit from Sakuko takes a chunk of your health in Silent Hill f, so you need to fight with the right strategy. She uses both melee and ranged attacks, making her unpredictable and dangerous.
Sakuko uses a combination of string attacks, single strikes, and a grab move. Whenever she attempts a grab, she shouts “Dodge This!” This is your cue to move. Dodge toward her to create an opening, as she is vulnerable immediately after a grab (give that you avoid being caught). During this brief recovery, she is open to attacks, so strike quickly before she resumes her assault.
Once she takes enough damage, Sakuko enters her second phase. She begins teleporting around the arena and preparing charged attacks. Pay attention to audio cues and her glowing effects. When she raises the mace above her head, a light will emit and gradually brighten. The brighter it becomes, the closer she is to unleashing a shockwave. Interrupt her charged attack before it completes.
Once Sakuko is defeated, a cutscene plays, marking the end of Chapter Four: Dark Shrine Corridors.
