Sims 4 Fans Need to Keep an Eye on May 1

Summary

  • New kits for The Sims 4 are coming on May 1.
  • Restoration Workshop, Golden Years, and Kitchen Clutter will be added to the game.

The Sims 4 will be launching three new kits for players to enjoy starting on May 1. The arrival of the Restoration Workshop, Golden Years, and Kitchen Clutter kits in The Sims 4 will likely provide a lot more official pieces of furniture and Create-a-Sim items that players can use to spruce up their living spaces and custom characters.

The Motherlode Season for the popular life simulator kicked off in early February with the reveal of The Sims 4 Businesses and Hobbies expansion, which launched on March 6 and introduced some new professions, small businesses, and other activities that Sims can partake in to build up new skill levels. There has been a gap in new content since the release of the expansion, but Maxis is about to tick off the next box on its checklist with the release of the three new kits.

Although the release date for these three new kits is fast approaching, Maxis and EA have been relatively silent about the final entry in The Sims 4‘s Motherlode Season roadmap that it released in February. Most of the entries on that list were related to reveals of Businesses and Hobbies’ features, and now that fans have had time to try out the new expansion, many may be wondering what kinds of themed goods will be in store for them in each of the kits.

The Sims 4 Releasing Three New Kits on May 1

  • Restoration Workshop
  • Golden Years
  • Kitchen Clutter

There are already plenty of kits in The Sims 4 that give players a relatively low-cost way to add new clothing options, furniture, and items to their homes and individual Sims. The game’s official Twitter page has been actively reposting fans’ reactions to existing sets like the Sleek Bathroom Kit, but players are left to speculate about the contents of the three kits arriving on May 1. Going from the names and the contents of past kits, it’s likely that the Kitchen Clutter expansion will mostly be limited to Build Mode items for that specific room. Golden Years and Restoration Workshop sound a little more ambiguous, but they’ll likely provide some more options for elderly and handy Sims, respectively.

In the gap between entries on the roadmap, developers haven’t exactly been slacking off. A free surprise Sims 4 update from early April added 14 different Create-a-Sim options centered around an LGBTQIA+ pride theme, along with a collection of household items including new beds and wall-mounted decorations.
