Slip-Up Or a Tease? A Recent Find Has Players Thinking That Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake is Close

Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag is one of the best AC games out there, and arguably the best pirate game out there. The requests for a remake have been circling the community for a while now. On that note, a recent situation (a tease, if you will) made the players think that an Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag remake is close.

Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag was released back in 2013 and is one of the favorite titles of the series. Surprisingly, it focuses more on naval combat and exploration (it’s all about pirates, after all) rather than on stealth (as much as you’d expect). But it turned out to be a success, with more than 11 million copies sold. It even stood the test of time, as when Skull and Bones was released in 2024, the players claimed that Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag is still a better pirate game than S&B. Naturally, this brought up the question of a remake once more, and in a recent turn of events, it looks like something is up.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake Tease or a Mistake by Sony?

Recently, one Redditor posted their find, where they noticed that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag on the PSN has a tag “Unannounced”. This has led some players to believe that it is a signal that a remake is close by.

“It could be a slip up on Playstation’s part as they create database entries before a game is officially announced. Previous rumors claimed that the game would be revealed at the upcoming Ubiforward in June and subsequently released in November.“ said the OP.

Naturally, lots of players jumped to support this idea, saying that black Flag is the best entry and is deserving of a remake.

Maybe Just a Glitch After All…

However, lots of other users state that glitches and slip-ups like this have happened before, and this is nothing to get excited about, unfortunately. “Games like LittleBigPlanet 3 were also recently showing the same thing. Pretty sure it’s just a glitch,” said dead_obelisk, “Not the first time it has had this, don’t expect anything ,” added darkdeath174, and “The game showing up as “announced” is the now delisted PlayStation Hits £15.99 version which was delisted in the last couple days between March 13th, and today, March 28th. The £24.99 version has taken its place, and reduced in price to £15.99. It’s just a cleanup of the listing,” stated doyouevennoscope.

Most likely, this is just a slip-up by the PSN. Yet, hope remains…
