This post contains spoilers for Solo Leveling.
Sung Jinwoo is the main character of Solo Leveling, and his growth has been nothing short of spectacular. At the beginning of the story, Jinwoo was merely an E-rank Hunter who couldn’t handle the weakest enemies on his own.
However, his life turned around after the Double Dungeon Incident, which resulted in him being named as the Player. It took a while for Sung Jinwoo to get acclimated to the new powers, but he got the hang of them after training rigorously for days.
Solo Leveling Season 3 Will Reveal Sung Jinwoo’s Dark Side
Jinwoo Will Kill Anyone Who Threatens His Family
- Sung Jinwoo’s first priority is his family
- Jinwoo has always been protective of his family members
In addition to highlighting his physical growth, the anime also tracked the hero’s mental development. Initially, Jinwoo was a person with low confidence who couldn’t stand up for himself. After becoming the Player, Jinwoo’s persona changed, and he became prouder of himself. The more Jinwoo understood his abilities, the more assured he became.
In the second season, Jinwoo very clearly stated that he fought so many high-level enemies because he wanted to obtain the ingredients for the Elixir of Life. Upon crafting the miracle potion, Jinwoo came under even more pressure. He wondered if, despite the claims, the Elixir of Life would fail to awaken his mother. Thankfully, it worked, and his mother awoke from her slumber, causing the hero to burst into tears. This made it abundantly clear that Jinwoo was all about his family.
In the third season of Solo Leveling, Jinwoo will face new threats, some of whom will pose a threat to his family. Jinwoo always tries to stay one step ahead, but that doesn’t always work. The third season of Solo Leveling will adapt the Ahjin arc, so fans will get to see what happens when Jinwoo’s family members are threatened.
In the arc, Sung Jin-ah comes across nefarious orcs, who threaten her life. Normally, Jinwoo would have had no trouble rescuing his sister, but it took him longer because he was participating in a raid. He left Beru in his stead and went to his sister’s location. Upon his arrival, Jinwoo slaughtered the creatures mercilessly, showing yet again that he will do everything in his power to protect his family. Later in the International Guild Conference Arc, Jinwoo openly threatened the guilds when they decided to target Sung Il-Hwan. These instances show Jinwoo’s dark side, where he loses sight of everything else and becomes fully devoted to erasing the threat.
Solo Leveling Season 3 Will Introduce Bigger Threats
Jinwoo Will Face The Monarchs In The Upcoming Season
Solo Leveling Season 3 is going to be bigger and better than the first two combined. Not only will Jinwoo face new enemies, but he will also uncover new secrets. Speaking of secrets, one of the biggest mysteries in the series is how Jinwoo was selected by the System. Thankfully, the next season will lift the curtain on it. Solo Leveling’s premise has always been about Jinwoo facing opponents stronger than him and eventually surpassing them. So, the third season is expected to have some similar occurrences.
At the time of writing, there has been no news about the new season’s release date. In fact, the studio hasn’t even officially announced the third season. Many fans have become worried because of the lack of an announcement, but it’s only a matter of time before A-1 Pictures confirms the third season.
Most rumors suggest that Solo Leveling Season 3 will be released in 2028 because the studio is busy with other projects. However, it is unlikely that A-1 Pictures will make the audience wait for three years to see Sung Jinwoo in action. 2027 seems a more realistic release date, as it will give the studio enough time to finish the production without any issues. Solo Leveling is renowned for high-quality animation, but if the studio is forced to rush through the process, it will negatively impact the anime.
