It has been a while since we had any major updates for Space Marine 2. But now, a new enemy is here, along with two more Chapters, all part of the Trygon update for Space Marine 2. Let’s see what that is all about.
A plethora of new stuff is now available. On April 15, Saber Interactive released a new free update for Space Marine 2, which adds a new mission type, the infamous Trygon as a “boss”, and introduces Space Wolves and Imperial Fists to the fray, both as purchasable cosmetics packs and/or as Season Pass rewards.
Space Marine 2 Trygon Update
The Trygon is now live and completely free. It adds a new PvE mission, a new weapon, and two purchasable cosmetic packs. It also came with a fantastic trailer that you can check out below.
Exfiltration – A New PvE Mission
Face the Trygon in the new Exfiltration mission! A Mechanicus agent requires an exfiltration from a facility that a massive Trygon has claimed for its own.
”Drop back to windswept Avarax for a new assignment and take on the mighty Trygon in Space Marine 2’s ninth PvE Operation. This terrifying, towering new boss specialises in guerrilla tactics and is renowned for its ability to burrow below defence lines and harass its prey no matter how safe they think they are.”
Infernus Pistol
A new sidearm had been added to the arsenal. The Infernus Pistol (or a Melta Pistol, if you please) is a short-range weapon that will decimate anyone who is brave enough to get close. Perforct for that sneaky Trygon.
QoL Improvements and Updates
A bunch of smaller but no less important improvements have been implemented to the game, such as “the introduction of Prestige Ranks and Prestige Rewards; a rework of many weapon perks; the ability to change the colour of cloth, tabards and hoods across all classes; as well as the much-requested Custom PvP lobbies, letting you match in groups of up to 12 players for fully customisable Eternal War games.”
Space Wolves Cosmetics Pack – The Vlka Fenryka
Finally, two famous Chapters have joined us. The Space Wolves, the ubiquitous “Space Vikings” of the setting, got a cosmetics pack, including weapon and armor skins. The Wolves got a special Vanguard armor skin, skins for Chainsword, Bolt Carbine, and Thunder Hammer, and a whole bunch of colors and smaller cosmetics. They are a part of the Space Marine 2 Season Pass. If you don’t have the Season Pass, the Space Wolves Comics Pack can be purchased separately.
Imperial Fists Cosmetics Pack – “Daylight Wall Stands Forever! No Wall Stands Against It”
Just like Space Wolves, the stalwart Imperial Fists have been added to the game. And, just like the Wolves, they received a special armor and a weapon skin. The Sons of Dorn got a unique Tactical armor skin, as well as a skin for the Plasma Incinerator. The cosmetics can be obtained either through the Season Pass or purchased separately. The Imperial Fists have fewer cosmetics compared to the Space Wolves, so their Cosmetics Pack is a bit cheaper to purchase.
This is a pretty massive update, as we can never get tired of new missions. Now the hardest question is: which Chapter to choose? Both. Both is good.
