Mere hours ago, the Helldivers completed the previous MO and slowed down the wormhole. Well, since the previous MO seemed like a piece of cake, J.O.E.L decided to give the players a bigger challenge. Sure, the Helldivers 2 players have to stop the Meridian Singularity, but to motivate them some more, the Game Master gave them a new Stratagem that they get to keep if they complete the Major Order.
Helldivers Might Finally Stop the Singularity in the Current Major Order
The new Major Order arrived on March 27. As always, a briefing arrived with it. It reflected on the success of the Penrose Energy Siphon, which managed to lower the Dark Energy Accumulation. Well, this advantage will allow Helldivers to stop the Meridian Singularity before it reaches Super Earth.
The briefing explained: “The Singularity loses energy and momentum as it moves. Eventually, assuming current Illuminate Dark Energy accumulation rates remain constant, it will come to rest”.
So, the Dark Energy accumulation rates mustn’t grow. In other words, the Helldivers have to stop the Illuminate from harvesting any more Dark Energy from the planets they attack. If they succeed, the Meridian Singularity will lose momentum, and Super Earth will no longer be in danger.
Obviously, the lives of countless citizens and Super Earth itself are at stake, so the High Command authorized the temporary deployment of a new Stratagem, the E/GL-21 Grenadier Battlement, against the Illuminate. If the players manage to complete the MO, this Stratagem will be added permanently.
The High Command gave Helldivers a little less than three days to complete the MO. Helldivers will have to fend off six Illuminate attacks in that time. It’s quite a tall order, and a lot is at stake, so Helldivers have to try their best.
New Stratagem Beats Super Earth
Sure, saving Super Earth is great, the most democratic act a Helldiver can do, but… Many Helldivers 2 players have discovered a new motive to complete the Major Order and stop the Singularity – yes, the new Stratagem. So, many Helldivers took to social media and called their fellow divers to join them on the Squid front.
SeptembersBud raved about the new Stratagem. They noted: “A fantastic way for us to RUIN the Squids’ terrorism plot. Absolutely awesome, can’t wait to try it”. Lucario_Mann_ added: “From what I’ve seen, it drops a big a** wall with a grenade launcher. Very interesting choice of an Emplacement, but I’ll see how it goes”.
Another player, TransientMemory, stated: “Three days, six attacks, one is already on track for success. They’re tempting us with a new stratagem as well, so hopefully that does something to incentivize players to hit the Illuminate front”.
Some players are also a bit concerned because of this sudden development on the Squid front. With the anniversary of Malevelon Creek approaching (April 3), the bots are seemingly interested in returning to this player. So, some claim that this entire MO was just to pull the players’ attention from the bots.
