Stardew Valley Player Discovers Unexpected Use for Purple Shorts
One unsuspecting Stardew Valley player makes a surprise discovery about the notorious purple shorts, sparking hilarious reactions from fans.
This time, a Stardew Valley player called CowboySpaceMom on Reddit shared the moment they had with the game, where they were fishing in the Secret Woods and got jumpscared while doing so. The video clip starts out fairly normally, with the player getting some last casts in at around midnight. However, just as they’re finished with the fishing mini-game and reel in their catch, a shadowy figure suddenly runs across the bottom of the screen, spooking the player. To make matters worse, in the comments, CowboySpaceMom admits that they hadn’t been paying much attention while fishing, so this sudden encounter was even more startling.
Stardew Valley Players Share Dark Creature Encounters
For players who don’t know, the being that the player spotted is referred to as the Dark Creature in Stardew Valley. The “creature” was only added with Stardew Valley‘s 1.6 update, with no real purpose to it other than to act as a random Easter egg moment. Players can’t interact with the Dark Creature in any way, though they might be able to find a footprint left behind by it. Most players refer to it as Sasquatch or Bigfoot, which developer ConcernedApe probably used as inspiration for the random sighting.
While some players still haven’t seen this creature for themselves, numerous fans shared their own experiences with spotting it unexpectedly. Some have seen it outside the mines, the Wizard Tower, or the same spot as the OP. Most who have seen it seem to have been startled by the experience, with one even saying they were glad they lived alone, as they jumped out of their seat with a yelp when they saw it. CowboySpaceMom joked that they would be complaining to the developer for giving fans heart attacks. Others added their own jokes, suggesting that it was actually Linus streaking in the woods, while one suggested that the Dark Creature should be added to the list of eligible Stardew Valley bachelors.
Since the Dark Creature can pop up unexpectedly, fans who haven’t spotted it yet should keep their eyes open when visiting the Secret Woods, Cindersnap Forest, or even while going through Pelican Town.
