Stellar Blade developer Shift Up has provided a statement regarding the ongoing region lock issue as the action-adventure title prepares for its PC launch. Initially released for the PlayStation 5 in April 2024, Stellar Blade is scheduled to be released for PC on June 11, but a recently discovered issue is throwing a wrench into the studio’s plans.
Following the incredible success of Stellar Blade on Sony’s hardware, Shift Up wasn’t shy about sharing its plans to bring the title to PC sometime in the future. This week, Stellar Blade‘s Complete Edition was revealed for both PC and PS5, set to introduce 25 new Nano Suits, a new boss fight, additional voiceover options for Japanese and Chinese, and updated facial animations for those taking advantage of these language options. While many are eager to boot up the game on PC and to take advantage of the countless mods that will likely hit the web in the coming weeks, a serious problem has been discovered, hampering many players’ efforts to access the Stellar Blade page on Steam.

Stellar Blade Developer Shift Up Working to Quickly Resolve PC Region Lock Issue
Despite early controversy, Stellar Blade went on to become a massive hit for Shift UP, becoming the best-selling game in North America in April 2024 and shipping one million copies by June of the same year. Last month, it was announced that Stellar Blade‘s director had become one of the 50 richest people in Korea, with Kim Hyung-tae’s net worth nearing the $725 million range. Many are eager to see how the game sells on PC once this region lock issue is addressed.
Hyung-tae recently revealed his Game of the Year for 2025, with the Stellar Blade boss praising Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and confirming that he had reached Platinum in the popular RPG after 96 hours of playtime. Currently, Expedition 33 is 2025’s highest-rated game on OpenCritic, with an average score of 92, with Split Fiction and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 both coming in at 90.
