The next update is live, so let’s see the patch notes for The First Descendant Hotfix 1.2.12. It added new items to the shop and fixed some small issues, but the players are still complaining about the crashes.
The First Descendant Hotfix 1.2.12 was announced some days ago. In the preview, Nexon revealed only vague information on what to expect, to everyone’s annoyance. Unfortunately, occasional crashes are a common occurrence in online games, and TFD is no different. Players were hoping that this hotfix would do something about it. And now, the hotfix details are finally revealed.
The First Descendant Hotfix 1.2.12 Patch Notes
This update added a bunch of “business” cosmetics to the game, tweaked some nodes in Arche Tuning, added more options for Photo Mode, and some other minor improvements. Unfortunately, it does not mention the infamous crashes.
Content Improvements
(1) Content Improvements
- In Arche Tuning, the Rare ‘Skill Power Modifier’ Enhancement Node has been changed to Rare ‘Skill Power’ Enhancement Node.
- Rare Skill Power Modifier 10% → Rare Skill Power +500.582
- When certain modules caused ‘Skill Power Modifier’ values to be negative, the calculation method led to excessive amplification, causing inconveniences when grinding. It has been replaced with ‘Skill Power’ for better usability.
(2) UI & UX
- Changed camera height adjustment hotkeys in Photo Mode for PC platform.
- Camera Up: T
- Camera Down: G
(3) Mission
- Changed the Weak Point Type of some Commander monsters in Sigma Sector ‘Isolated Desert’ Normal/High-risk.

- Changed Weak Point Type: Fire
(4) Miscellaneous
- Changed the ‘Latent Strength’ effect in the ‘Unpredictable’ 4-set External Component effect from ‘Skill Power’ to ‘Base Skill Power Boost Ratio’ with adjusted values.
- Skill Power 21% → Base Skill Power Boost Ratio 31%
- The display in the External Component information window shows Skill Power-related items comprehensively, so it appears the same as above.

Players Still Complain About Crashes
What this hotfix failed to do is fix the frequent crashes (and failures to connect) some people are seeing. You can see comments on the official posts, like: “I don’t see anything about a server fix? You’d think actually having players being able to play the game would be a priority…” from ben29732331, and “…Of course, there’s still the Network Errors to address soon.” from SirChar103.
On the other hand, it looks like this issue is mostly happening to players who use last-gen consoles. Knowing that Nexon plans to stop supporting TFD on those consoles in the near future, it is no surprise that it’s not a priority to fix right now.
