It’s been an exciting week for Helldivers. The game turned one, the players figured out how to make a Hellbomb trebuchet, and there was a hefty patch that caused some drama. Well, the only thing left is for something big to happen story-wise. So, when Helldivers 2 players saw that the devs issued an unscheduled patch, they swiftly deduced that it had to be somehow connected to the Angel’s Venture and Meridian Singularity’s imminent collision.
Helldivers Worry That the Future of Angel’s Venture Is Uncertain
As you probably know, the current Major Order has the players fending off numerous Squid attacks as fast as possible. Even though a part of the community is doing their best, it seems that the MO is doomed.
On February 12, the Meridian Singularity moved even closer to Angel’s Venture. The former black hole is now in the Orion Sector. It’s highly improbable that the players will manage to stop it from colliding with the planet in its way.
Some see this as a possibility for a special Major Order. One player, Ladyshipzai, suggested: “With Meridian Singularity so close, wish for special MO to evacuate the citizens of Angel’s Venture. The missions can be the same, fighting the bugs… maybe some weird modifier with how Meridian Singularity messing up with our stratagem. Target MO: Evacuate x amount Citizens of Super Earth”.
Now, there are some unspecified leaks of a planet blowing up. Hopefully, those aren’t related to Angel’s Venture. Some players hope that the leaks connected to Klen Dahth II might affect Angel’s Venture. This would cause a change of biome on the planet, maybe to a lava biome?
Developers Issued a Patch… Note?
Well, some Helldivers 2 players claim that the confirmation of something happening with Angel’s Venture lies in the fact that the devs issued an emergency patch. Even though the patch, um, note seems harmless, some players found it unusual.
The Community Manager, Baskinator, posted the patch note on Discord. She noted: “Due to a new crash discovered in yesterday’s patch we are issuing all Helldivers a new update to amend this error. We thank you for your patience and continued war effort. Fixed a common crash which could occur when dropping into a mission”.
As innocent as this patch note sounds, many players connected it to the current events in the game. One of them, ZDamage, stated: “Suddenly noticed that game is patching. Can’t be good news with all that Meridia stuff happening”.
