Marathon is a new extraction shooter from Halo and Destiny studio Bungie. Despite some turbulence in the form of an eleventh hour delay and controversies around art plagiarism, Bungie’s pedigree means first-person shooter fanatics are going to want to play this regardless.
Marathon will release in Australia on March 6. Pre-orders are currently open, and if you pre-purchase you get a bunch of cosmetics (you know, weapon charms, stickers, emblems). Marathon won’t receive a physical edition in Australia, as we’ve come to expect for multiplayer-only games, but there are definitely better places to buy it rather than directly from Steam.

These prices may change over the coming weeks; if we notice that they have, we’ll dutifully update the page.
What’s in the deluxe edition of Marathon and is it worth it?
The Marathon deluxe edition is mostly cosmetics, as well as some in-game “Rewards Pass Tokens” and a “Premium Rewards Pass Voucher”. Yes, it’s going to be one of those kinds of games.
Here’s what’s included:
- 1x Premium Rewards Pass Voucher
- 200 SILK Rewards Pass Tokens
- Weapon Cosmetic – MIDNIGHT DECAY [Misriah 2442 Pump Shotgun Style]
- Weapon Cosmetic – MIDNIGHT DECAY [Overrun AR Style]
- Runner Cosmetic – MIDNIGHT DECAY [Vandal Shell Style]
- Runner Cosmetic – MIDNIGHT DECAY [Destroyer Shell Style]
- Runner Cosmetic – MIDNIGHT DECAY [Assassin Shell Style]
- Runner Cosmetic – MIDNIGHT DECAY [Thief Shell Style]
I don’t think cosmetics are ever worth paying extra for, but this is obviously something you may feel very differently about.
