After days and even weeks of plaguing the PS community, The First Descendant devs finally said something about the notorious PlayStation audio bug.
Bugs are an unfortunate necessity in any game. The First Descendant had its fair share of bugs since the early days, and Nexon has been pretty vigilant in fixing them (at least the worst ones). So it is pretty unusual that a pretty significant bug has been left unaddressed for such a long time. PlayStation players have been reporting that they stop hearing voice lines after playing for some time. The worst part is that Nexon has not acknowledged that issue, nor made any comment on what they plan to do about it, and the whole thing escalated into a mass of very angry/disappointed players. It even prompted some players to look for “homemade” solutions.
The First Descendant Devs Promised to do Something About the PlayStation Audio Bug
Finally, Nexon said something about this issue. In a list of “Known Issues” for May, we can see a couple of lines addressing the audio bug. Updated on May 15, the list says:
“[PS] Audio Issue – No Sound During Gameplay
- An issue has been identified on the PS platform where the sound may stop playing after a certain period during gameplay.
- This issue will be addressed in the upcoming 1.2.18 patch update.”
The upcoming 1.2.18 is most definitely the major update scheduled for May 22, which will add the long-awaited “Dynamic Motion” feature, the Party Finder system, Ice Maiden, and more.
These lists of “Known Issues” are only glanced at best, when they appear. The devs just edited the original post, so it is no wonder that the fact that they are doing something about the PS audio bug has flown under the radar. However, it was revealed on their Discord.
In any case, we are certain that the PS players will appreciate this.
