The First Berserker: Khazan is the game everyone is waiting for. Scheduled to release on March 27, it is a dark and gritty action-adventure game made by Nexon, the same folks responsible for The First Descendant (hopefully, fewer microtransactions this time). We are looking at a resurgence of darker games inspired by Asian culture, thanks to Black Myth: Wukong, the upcoming Phantom Blade Zero, and now The First Berserker: Khazan. The First Berserker Khazan Review Embargo Is Down

Just three days before the release, the review embargo for The First Berserker: Khazan has been lifted. According to Metacritic, it has a score of 86/100, at the time of writing. Those are only critic reviews (the players’ reviews will come in when the game gets properly released), and here are some of them.

“The First Berserker: Khazan isn’t reaching for that manifestation of Souls. Instead, it’s a dark fantasy anime adventure with a beginning, middle, and end, pitting you against bosses I’d proudly position next to the finest found in the niche.” said Screen Rant (100/100).

Alternatively, the “worse” score is given by PC Gamer, and that is “only” 80/100, saying: “Despite somewhat samey missions and a flat protagonist, Khazan’s combat and boss design are some of the best I’ve seen in a soulslike.”
