The disappearing bullets became a widely known issue. The gist is that when your Fire Rate is way too high, the game will “delete” some of your shots. The ammo will be wasted but the shot won’t do any damage, leading to a lower damage-per-magazine result. Unsurprisingly, the players didn’t take this very well, but on the most recent AMA, The First Descendant devs address this infamous “Ghost Bullet” issue, explaining why it happens and what they plan to do about it.
Recently, it has come to the community’s attention that a certain “glitch” can ruin your damage output. Players noticed that if you happen to buff your Fire Rate to an extremely high level, some bullets simply don’t do anything. This has led the players to look for a safe “cap”, while others want to know why that happens. Thankfully, Nexon gave us some answers.
The First Descendant Devs Are Aware of The Ghost Bullet Issue and Share Their Initial Plan
During the latest AMA session, Nexon answered a bunch of pressing questions, mostly about the skins, Season 2 Episode 2, and Season 3 content. But, some players remembered to ask about the “ghost bullets”. Minseok Joo said that it was due to the anti-cheat measures:
“We are currently investigating the ghost bullet issue that occurs near the maximum fire rate. This issue arises when the fire rate exceeds the limits set for anti-cheat measures. If we ease this restriction, it could make anti-cheat enforcement more difficult, so we are reviewing whether a stricter fire rate cap is necessary. At the moment, we are working on determining the highest possible fire rate that can be allowed while maintaining effective anti-cheat measures.”
Well, at least they are aware of it. Honesty, this does not sound like a pressing issue for them so we doubt that we’ll get some proper fixes for this anytime soon. We’d love to be proven wrong, though.
