Has it been a year already? It feels like it was yesterday that we waded through the jungles of Space Vietnam. Well, it is Malevelon Creek Memorial Day, and Helldivers 2 players are marking the anniversary by trying to stop the bots from attacking the Creek again and dealing with the mess that J.O.E.L made.
Helldivers Mark the First Anniversary of the Malevelon Creek Victory
Ah, the Creek! The planet that shaped the Helldivers 2 community and changed all of the players that fought on it for good. April 3, 2025, marks the first anniversary of the amazing victory over the Automatons. A lot has happened since, however, the Creek veterans know nothing has been as traumatic.
An announcement was made in the game. It notes: “Today marks Malevelon Creek Memorial Day. On this day, we pause to honor the countless heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of Malevelon Creek. The ongoing assault towards the planet is a timely reminder that truly honoring their sacrifice means being willing to make even more sacrifices–to preserve what they fought for. Let all citizens join together in 3 minutes of solemn remembrance during their lunch break, in honor of our fallen heroes”.

Also, the developers posted an image that celebrates all the sacrifices made on the Creek. Today, more than ever, Helldivers should remember the fallen. The Creek was one of the biggest battles so far, and we must never forget everything that was sacrificed.

J.O.E.L Really Wants the Automatons to Reach the Creek
It seems that J.O.E.L has some terrifying plans for celebrating the Creek anniversary in Helldivers 2. As you know, the bot front is currently in quite a good condition. It’s possible that the GM has been planning all of this for a while.
The current Major Order asked the players to protect Malevelon Creek at all costs. The players have been doing just fine, but the Popli IX defense has proven to be quite demanding. J.O.E.L brought back the Jet Brigade and keeps throwing various Battlefield Impacts at Helldivers. The players have managed to overcome all difficulties until now.
Minutes ago, another Battlefield Impact arrived. It states: “Cryo-good transport is facing interdiction by Automaton fleets, reducing REINFORCEMENTS to 3 for all operations on PÖPLI IX in the short term”.

Unfortunately, by all calculations, this most likely doomed the Helldivers’ efforts. Even though 30k players are currently fighting on Popli IX, chances are this battle is already lost. However, we mustn’t stop trying! We hope we’ll see you there. For Liberty and Super Earth.
