It’s Tuesday, and that means it’s patch day! The devs have seemingly gone back to issuing smaller patches and hotfixes on a weekly basis, which is amazing for the game. However, Helldivers 2 players aren’t all that pleased that the latest patch (01.002.202) features only fixes.
The Latest Patch Is Full of Various Fixes
On April 1, Baskinator, the Community Manager, announced the new patch on the official Discord channel. This patch, or rather a hotfix, is made up of Crash Fixes, Mission Fixes, and Miscellaneous Fixes. So, let’s go over everything the devs have done.
First up, Crash Fixes. The game should no longer crash when a player using legacy hardware drops into a mission, nor after exiting the armory when switching from certain weapons. Also, the out-of-memory crash due to a large number of particles should no longer happen.
As for Weapons and Stratagems Fixes, this week’s patch only fixed some issues the players had with reloading laser weapons. However, the devs issued an incredibly important Missions Fix. As you know, in the past weeks, players encountered a huge issue with the Illuminate dropships, which stopped coming (due to too many being destroyed before dropping off Squids). We are extremely pleased to say that this issue has reportedly been fixed!
Finally, the devs also issued a couple of Miscellaneous Fixes and Social & Multiplayer Fixes. The edge-case allowing some mismatched game versions to connect to each other is fixed. And, the devs fixed the rare issue of white boxes showing in the Super Store.

Helldivers 2 Players Wanted New Content and Even More Fixes
Now, Helldivers 2 developers issuing a patch for fixes only is great, don’t get us wrong. But Helldivers had much bigger expectations. There are numerous issues and bugs that were introduced in previous patches, as well as a bunch of new stuff that the devs haven’t even addressed yet.
Of course, one of the biggest complaints in the community is still the Eruptor nerf from the previous patch. Players also asked for the anti-aliasing fix and some major performance fixes. An honorable mention goes to the players’ ask to stop the new emplacement from killing a player when it’s destroyed.
Obviously, many players were disappointed that no new levels or content were added, as some expected the rest of the Illuminate would arrive. Once again, the players asked for a roadmap, but, as you probably know, the devs aren’t keen on sharing one.
Truth be told, some patches need to be just fixes, so the devs can build something spectacular on a strong basis. Hopefully, they are working on something big, but we’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, meet us on Vandalon IV, let’s work together on this Major Order. For Liberty and Super Earth.
