What a glorious day for MH Wilds players! Monster Hunter Wilds developer, Capcom, shared the Showcase and a Roadmap for the first free update coming on April 4. Truth be told, they did not disappoint! The update will contain new Monsters, events, the Grand Hub, and other fun additions. Also, you can expect some free downloadable content, a Cosmetic DLC Pack, and some paid downloadable content.
The Devs Showcase the First Free Update
On March 25, the devs shared the March 2025 Showcase. The producer of MH Wilds, Ryozo Tsujimoto, greeted the audience and shared some details about the upcoming first free title update. You can watch the entire Showcase below or here.
As you know, MH Wilds dropped a little less than a month ago. Some devoted Hunters needed only a couple of days to go through all the content. So, the content that will be added in the upcoming update is more than welcome.
According to the Monster Hunter Wilds Free Title Update Roadmap that the devs shared, the first additions are coming on April 3 (PDT). This update will bring two new Monsters (Mizutsune and Zoh Shia), the Grand Hub, and new Arena Quests.
Next up, the Hunters will get to participate in a Seasonal Event, the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance. This event will start on April 22 and it will last until May 6. Another Monster, the Arch-tempered Rey Dau, will be introduced during a special event from April 29 to May 20.
The devs also announced that the Hunters should expect a collab with another Capcom game at the end of May. As we mentioned, this update will also bring lots of new designs (lots of Palico content!) and both free and paid content, so one thing is for sure: the Hunters will be more stylish than ever.
The Teased Monster Shocks Monster Hunter Wilds Players
Although Monster Hunter Wilds players loved the Update Showcase and can’t wait for the update to drop, one scene was a show-stealer. At the very end of the Showcase, the devs teased the next update, set to drop during the summer.
The Roadmap states that a new Monster will be added. Can you guess which one just based on these claws? We’re pretty sure we can, and the player base was left in awe. It seems Lagiacrus is coming to MH Wilds with the summer update.
Gullible_Cloud_3132 noted: “I’ve always thought of it as a very MH unique monster, so I’m really looking forward to this. The last time I felt like that about a monster was when I saw Barroth before even playing World”.
Another player, catalyst9953, raved: “Man, I did not think seeing Lagiacrus make his return would make me this happy, but I almost teared up seeing that blue-skinned bastard. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate was my first game in the series, and Lagiacrus was my favorite monster from that game. I can’t wait to turn him into a hat for my cat”.
