What a time to be a Helldiver! On May 20, the developers dropped Heart of Democracy. This update brought quite a few big changes (fighting on Super Earth!), but Helldivers 2 players are also in awe of all the small details the devs thought of. So, let’s see if you’ve spotted some of these details.
Some of the Awesome Details Added in the Heart of Democracy Update
There are quite a few fun little details! And, truth be told, we are quite sure there are even more of these, but the player base hasn’t discovered them yet. So, strap in and enjoy everything Arrowhead devs thought of.
Starting off very strong, the teddy-beardiver! If you have an eye for detail, you might have noticed this plushie before. It was featured in both the Omens of Tyranny trailer and cover art. At the time, it seemed it had a dire future, but it’s featured in the Heart of Democracy cover art, front and center. A Helldiver is holding it, and is there a safer place in the entire galaxy?
Players can find more wholesome details right on Super Earth. You may have stumbled upon a playground while dealing with the Squids. Well, you can find mini Super Destroyer spring riders there. Also, there are slides, and you can go down them; it’s ridiculously fun.
Aside from mini Super Destroyers, the real ones also received some cool updates! Your Super Destroyer is now marked with an icon, so you always know where it is. Also, probably because of the tall buildings, it will move around and into position once you call down a Stratagem. Unlucky-Gold7921 caught it on video.
Finally, we have to talk about SEAF troops and the civilians. If you salute the SEAF soldier, they will salute back. If you salute a civilian, they might try to go in for a hug! Also, we are too democratic to confirm this, but some players reported that if you killed “enough” civilians, you became a “traitor” and you were bombed.
Helldivers 2 Players Have Nothing But Words of Praise for the Devs
Obviously, the latest update brought an amazing amount of well-thought-out details, and Helldivers 2 players thoroughly appreciate that fact. They gladly praised Arrowhead and all the lovely new changes.
BracusDoritoBoss963 noted: “I must say it: AH outdid themselves. These last 2 updates felt so refreshing, and I saw a camaraderie I haven’t seen in a long time. All Helldivers together against one single common enemy. The new enemies feel so unique and completely changed how we fight against the Illuminate”.
Another player, Neolombax, added: “For me it’s also the environmental destruction in the megacities. It really adds up to the invasion. Seeing buildings crumble when the enemy plane i shot down, crashes into it feels empowering”.
Hadez_Etho concluded: “They cooked so good, even gave us SEAF ground forces to fight alongside us. This is amazing”. And, it truly is. These past two updates were probably the best ones since the game launched. They featured everything from new enemies, storyline progression, optimization, weapon customization, and a ridiculous amount of details.
