This Is the Most Bizarre Evolution Method in Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Mega Dimension DLC

Galarian Yamask evolves into Runerigus in Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Mega Dimension DLC, but its evolution method is quite tricky, and not something most trainers will know of beforehand. Like other special evolutions in PLZA, players need to fulfill very strict prerequisites before they are able to complete the evolution.

For players looking to complete their Pokedex and add Runerigus to their party, knowing this evolution method is crucial. Additionally, Galarian Yamask itself is not easy to stumble upon either, and finding it might be something trainers will need help with. This guide covers the details of how to find Galarian Yamask as well as the exact method of how to evolve it into Runerigus.

Galarian Yamask Location

Galarian Yamask can be encountered in 3-Star Ghost-type Hyperspace Wild Zones in Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Mega Dimension DLC. 3-Star Hyperspaces start appearing all over the city after players complete Hyperspace Lumiose Survey No. 3 and catch Mega Tatsugiri.

Regular Yamask has red eyes and only appears in 1-Star Hyperspaces, whereas Galarian Yamask has purple eyes and can only be found in 3-Star Hyperspaces. Galarian Yamask’s portrait when it appears in a Hyperspace is shown above.

Galarian Yamask Evolution Method

To evolve Galarian Yamask into Runerigus in PLZA, you’ll need to meet the following two requirements:

  • Have Galarian Yamask take 49 HP (or more) worth of damage without fainting.
  • Stand underneath the Coulant Waterway Bridge, located in the southeastern part of Lumiose City, between
    Wild Zone 2
    and
    Wild Zone 17
    (shown above).

If both conditions are met, the evolve icon will appear on Galarian Yamask’s portrait in the pause menu, allowing trainers to evolve it into Runerigus.

The easiest way to reduce Galarian Yamask’s HP by 49 points is by having it hold a Focus Sash and pitting it against a high-level Pokemon from Wild Zone 20. This will reduce the Pokemon’s HP to 1, fulfilling the requirement as long as its total HP is more than 50.

Focus Sash can be purchased from the workers in Racine Construction for 4980 Poke Dollars.
