“Timegating and Descendant Badges” Some Parts of The First Descendant Community Are Tired of Unobtainable and Messy Achievements

Some folks really love getting that 100% completion score on a game. Unfortunately, it is practically impossible to do so in TFD right now. Naturally, some parts of The First Descendant community are tired of those unobtainable achievements in the game.

It is hardly a surprise that TFD is all about the grind. It is a looter-shooter, after all. So, with all the repetition (occasionally broken with some new mission types and story quests) naturally comes the quest of getting the achievements. In TFD, there are a ton of achievements (over 400) that you can get by completing various simple “tasks”, which are usually along the lines of “do this X number of times”. That’s why there are so many of them. The rewards for them are usually Suffixes and Prefixes, with an occasional Emote, Ecive Skin, or something similar. However, players noticed that some of those Achievements can’t be, well, achieved, and some of them are not too happy about it.

Parts of the Community Tired and Frustrated With Unobtainable Achievements in The First Descendant

For a while now, players noticed that there is a special Achievement that grants you an Emote and an Ecive Skin when you reach Master Level 30. Unfortunately, the current maximum Mastery Level is 28, meaning that this achievement is currently unobtainable. Kinda sucks, but people got used to it.

With the introduction of Medals, a similar thing happened. There is a Medal that you can only obtain if you find 130 Records. The trick is, there are only 129 of them currently in the game. Naturally, some players are pretty irritated with this, wondering why Nexon puts these unobtainable achievements in the game.

“If the mission can’t be completed as of now, why put the mission in the game at this time. It’s bad management, there’s no other excuse, “ asked Schwammarlz, “It’s been a glitch apparently,” said Trashbandit_seal, and “Typical TimeGate bull****…” added one player.

Timegating

More cool-headed folk stated the fact that it is a commonplace nowadays to put “timegated” content, ie, content that is unavailable right now but will be in the future, as is the situation with these achievements.

“Nope, 129 is max Atm we have to wait for another record “ said Any-Oil7264, and “Basically means the badge is timegated until a future update when more records are put into the game. I’m at 129 myself,“ added Vernelo.

Descendant Badge

Additionally, it is worth sharing that the players have some issues with the “Descendant Badge”. You get it if you own all 28 Descendants. Players tend to dismiss Descendants to make room for new ones, especially when they get the Ultimate version. No sense in keeping the “weaker” version.

The problem is that it only counts the ones you own at the moment, starting from the day Medals were introduced. That means that the game won’t count the characters you had and dismissed before April 17.

“Hope they fix this. I had everyone before ult Blair and had to delete Lepic. Now my count is 26. Cuz i don’t have ult Blair. I guess i can remake Lepic but what a hassle.. “ said frequencykennth, and “I learned from warframe and subsuming. I keep everything. Don’t want to refarm all the stuff again. “ added funelite.

The stuff about timegating is a bit uncool, but nothing to get too riled up. The Descendant Badge, however, is truly frustrating, especially for the veterans out there who most likely have all the Ultimate Descendants, and now they have to for the regular versions all over again. Unfortunately, it looks like doing something about it is not on Nexon’s priority list.
